Somehow underrated.
Was that from "The Americanization of Emily"? She looks so much like my mom sometimes.
Love her so much!
Two random thoughts:
(1) Lock down December as the month of Julie Andrews (the release of Saving Mr Banks and NBC's The Sound of Music live show both happen in December). Celebrate through a series of blog posts celebrating her filmography.
(2) Hope she will get a lifetime achievement award at the Oscars someday
The voice sublime. The actress the epitome of class and grace. The filmography uneven but dotted with some real gems. I second December as Julie Andrews month!
Yes please to PJ's suggestion. Julie is, as Peggy Sue reminded me, still somehow underrated. Most likely because she hasn't worked very much in the recent past. Would love to see a month devoted to her.
So I turn down the Tony nod for Victor/Victoria before this EGOT business? I don't understand... I'm a musical treasure. Surely I won one later on?
Just watched The Americanization of Emily for the first time yesterday! What a coincidence! It's Julie's only Black and White movie, so that kind of narrowed down this shot.
She may be wondering what happened to the finale of HMWYBS.
To articulate the beauty of Julie Andrews can be likened to describing the rarest of dreams that miraculously comes true, shows humanity its collective heart, and lifts us all to that higher place for which we endlessly yearn. Ms. Andrews--practically perfect.
Why am I such a bitch in real life????
