Curio: All Three Flavors

Alexa here. It may not be Krzysztof Kieślowski, but Edgar Wright's now-completed three-flavor trilogy also had a pretty positive critical response. Then there's the fan base, who devour every tweet from Simon Pegg with more gusto than a hung-over Ed licks a Cornetto.  So Wright has done the inevitable, setting up a tumblr for updates and for the ever-growing collection of fan art.

Here are some samples.

I know people considered this the 'weakest' of the trilogy but to me it was a necessary, heart-felt finale. It was Wright exploring the darker elements of his characters and Pegg really felt game. It was oddly Wright's most moral movie without ringing out that aspect of it like a siren.

Weakest or not, I laughed myself silly. I love that Wright can produce so many variations on a theme - English suburbia sucks - and still make the films fresh and incredibly funny. I'm just sorry the trilogy is at an end. I'd have loved another genre parody.

anne marie -- but what genre do you think this one was parodying? My issue with it was that it felt so unfocused compared to the other two which are pretty brilliant and really spot on in their genre riffing/commentary.
