HitFix Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) may well remake Ghostbusters with a female cast. I'm normally against do-overs unless you significantly reinvent so best wishes to all

Cast This! It appears that there's going to be a movie called Russ & Roger Go Beyond about the making of Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (1970). Who should play that infamous movie's celebrated writer Roger Ebert?

Finally...
Why did no one tell me about Vance Joy's "Riptide" which is now as far as I can tell like a year old. Love the emphatic fantasy of this lyric, duh!

I just gotta, I just gotta know
I can't have it, I can't have it any other way

Closest thing to Michelle Pfeiffer that you've ever seen, oh

Nathaniel, you should start doing a "Cast This" for the female Ghostbusters. It woud be interesting to see who you and the readers think can take on such iconic roles.

On the School of Rock TV series, I'm a big no no. I'm really a big fan of the movie, having watched it like 67 times (OK kidding, I didn't actually count how many times but it was a lot). How can you create a show that both retain the good elements from the classic film while also bring out something new? If you cast someone new they can never compete with Jack Black; and if Jack Black agrees to reprise his role (which is unlikely) he can no longer bring surprise to the audience. It's a lose-lose situation. History had told us so (looking at you, Clueless and 10 Things I Hate About You).

Jonah Hill seems to be a shoe-in to play Roger Ebert. And if he does, he seems to be a shoe-in to become "three-time Oscar nominee Jonah Hill".

Philip Seymour Hoffman was suppose to play Ebert. Ebert wanted Hoffman to play him in a biopic. I think it was something Hoffman agreed and was looking forward to. As long as Gabourey Sidibe is not cast as Chaz Ebert, I'll be all right with the Jonah Hill version.

Riptide!!! It was (and is) a very popular song in Australia. But to a point where people got annoyed by it. I still like it a lot. Plus the MV!

Yes, what Anthony said. It topped the Hottest 100 (an annual poll of listeners of our national public-owned (alternative-leaning) youth radio station, to gauge the 100 best songs of the year). I only have a little resentment for it because folk/surf tunes have been dominating the charts for a few years now, and the song stopped Lorde from being the first female artist to top the poll in it's 21-year history.

I had occasionally thought about highlighting it to you, Nate, but I kept assuming that you would have heard about it by now. Sorry!
