I'm seing Brooklyn Tuesday and cannot wait!!! I saw Suffragette today and Brooklyn was one of the previews and just made me more excited!

Also, Suffragette was incredible and I don't understand why there are any critics to this film.

Dying to see this, doesn't hit Chicago until Friday.

Very powerful film and I think Nat's Sundance review was spot on. It's a genre film, and if people can accept it for that, it'll be a hit. I'm rooting for it.

Beautifully crafted movie. It all adds up to great effect genre-wise and style-wise. Seer-sha Ronan is delicate and imbues the character with emotional intelligence and a sense of quiet strength that is delicate, mature and heroic. She very much flashed out this new classic heroine. I can only see how she will really become a great woman and mother and I hope for her to lead a great life, In a sense, it fits more into the character-study film genre than into melodrama.

I'm really hoping for a Best Actress nomination for her. <3

Loved this film. Some may criticize the film for being too simple and nothing happening but this criticism confuses me. While nothing life changing might happen the film and story are just so well done that this is one of those small intimate films that needs to be seen to show how tis type of genre can be at it's best. Ronan is so great in this role that the thought of the original casting choice Rooney Mara in this is such a different choice with Ronan being the perfect choice for this role.

P.S. Nick Hornby is now 3/3 in terms of his film adapted screenplays.

Why are people so amazed by Ronan,,we all knew when Atonement came out she was something else.

Saw it yesterday and can't shake how beautiful the film and Ronan's performance are. Such a perfect look at the big and small choices we all make that change our lives.

Mark - She hasn't really excited anyone since then though, give or take Hanna

Such a great film. I'm not one for melodrama but this is such a true, sweet story. And so relatable to anyone that's ever emigrated/moved to a new place on their own. Beautifully crafted and acted. If it were up to me this would be getting a lot of nominations. Really hoping for Best Pic, Screenplay (Go, Nick Hornby, Go!) and Actress for Ronan. This the heart of the movie, such a naturalistic performance. Just so, so good.

Brooklyn was terrific. The leading performance was so subtly done. She absolutely draws you in. It would be a real shame if people passed over it because there aren't enough histrionics. Less is more and all that.

LOVED it! I suffered through Suffragette. "Brooklyn" was beautiful. Hoping for Ronan and Julie Walters, too. Loved the Christmas lunch room scene in particular.

Just saw it, and was blown away. It had me crying within five minutes. As an immigrant, I had never seen such a simple, poetic way to describe the feeling of being torn in two, of being two people in two different places. Really hoping for all the nominations for Saoirse.

Whenever she wore green in the movie, I kept thinking about Keira's green dress in ATONEMENT. That's a compliment.
