Thoughts I Had... First Look at "The Book of Henry"

Chris here with a first official image. Let's try not to hold Jurassic World's flatness against director Colin Trevorrow. While he may be the current whipping boy for the internet's derision at indie directors making the abrupt transition into franchise entertainments, his debut Safety Not Guaranteed had the charms and spunk to hint at a career making heartwarming fare. And wouldn't you know, that's exactly what he's got planned for this fall's The Book of Henry.

The family drama opens this September curiously right after the Toronto Film Festival wraps up. Here's the first image from the film, featuring child stars Jaeden Leiberher (St Vincent) and Jacob Tremblay (Room):

Some thoughts:

  • Jaeden Leiberher is still holding on to those Midnight Special goggles?
  • Colin Trevorrow is slated to direct Star Wars: Episode IX, which makes notorious uberfan Tremblay just one degree removed from the franchise. It's been said ad nauseum, but I must restate: the world is a cruel place indeed if he can't be in Star Wars. Come on, Trevorrow, be a pal!
  • Naomi Watts plays both boys' mother. Her recent track record of screen mothers has ranged from Oscar nominated (The Impossible) to shaky (Demolition) to ghastly (the Divergent series). Where will this one land?
  • The plot promises "a boy genius". Which of these two is the brainy one?
  • For all of Jurassic World's faults, it's strongest asset was the brother relationship at its heart. Trevorrow's got two natural talents here, so maybe there could be great chemistry.

Consider me excited to give Trevorrow another shot with something on a smaller scale. What do you think of the first look at The Book of Henry?

Naomi's nomination for The Impossible (fPS: Lo Imposible) proves that shaky/ghastly and Oscar-nominated aren't mutually exclusive.

Anyway, it's LIEberher and according to this...

...he'll be the boy genius.

The only thing I can think of when watching this picture is that Tremblay should indeed make a Star Wars movie, since I'm planning to avoid them from now on.

Now if I'd used what little brain I have, I could have concluded myself that Lieberher will be the boy genius, since the film's title is The Book Of Henry and IMDb confirms that it's Jaeden who'll play Henry.

Right now I had another association. What does Liza sing in Cabaret? Bye-Bye, Mein Lieber Her(r).

My dream was to write a book. But for that I need to work on improving my writing skills. Usually, when I had difficulty with an assignment, I would ask for help writing papers, and the experts would help me. It was a great help, and I think it will continue to help me. And I will be able to write an exciting book in the future.

I should honesty say that this movie is great! I even would not have watched this film if the client-student did not asked me prepare the film review on it. I should say that Colin Trevorrow cannot be called a sophisticated director, there are only two serious productions in his career so far, besides, Jurassic World is more of a producer's project than a director's, but he already wanted to surprise the viewer with something unprecedented. The result was the drama "The Book of Henry". The Book of Henry is a soothing movie that will still squeeze at least one tear out of you by the end. Because the authors correctly and correctly prioritize and key points.
I like my job and such cases is the great example when students of international colleges and universities who are to prepare book reports film reviews or case studies and to prepare instead of them great academic works which you can find at service where I post it all - .

I can definitely agree with the comment above that Colin Trevorrow cannot be considered a sophisticated director, with only two serious productions in his career so far and "Jurassic World" being more of a producer's project than a director's, he still attempted to surprise viewers with something unprecedented. The outcome was the drama "The Book of Henry." Despite being a calming film, "The Book of Henry" will undoubtedly tug at your heartstrings and leave you shedding at least one tear by the end.
This film has a really nice plot that can be interpreted differently and thanks to the pamphlet writing service I got pamphlet paper from I understood the basic idea of this great film.

I completely agree with your point that the movie was tonally confusing. It seemed like it couldn't decide whether it wanted to be a heartwarming family drama or a gritty, intense thriller. As a result, the film ended up feeling disjointed and unfocused. I also appreciate your commentary on the performances of the actors. Naomi Watts is a talented actress, but I agree that her performance in this film was uneven. At times, it felt like she was trying too hard to be emotionally vulnerable, which made her character feel less authentic. I read a lot of reviews you may check out as well.
