Good Morning from Rita and Me.
I'm not as peppy as Rita Hayworth here* -- yesterday was so disheartening on so many levels -- but the coffee is helping. While I struggle to get my day going with a smile, tell us about yours -- any big movie plans this weekend?
*Coffee cup via Alejandro Mogolla's shop. He's a great illustrator and also a reader of The Film Experience!

GAH! Alejandro's work always makes me happy!
When are you bringing back questions? I have a one for you about Ryan Murphy.
You look so cute Nathaniel! I also really want that mug......
Oh my goodness, I NEED that "divine decadence" mug with the Liza illustration on that site.
Chris -- me too.
/3rtful - soon. thanks for reminder
Sean -- thank u xo
Suzanne -- buy it! I am poor so i don't buy everything but i have 3 things from that shop (a t shirt plus two mugs)
Omg, just visited the link--this artist is amazing! I want that Ava Gardner Tshirt.
OMG there's not greater joy than seeing my work featured in my favorite blog!!!! Thank you!
Movie plans? One of my local arthouse cinemas is showing a series on Patricia Highsmith's adaptations, so I may go see Strangers on a train later, which I can't believe I haven't seen, as I love Hitchcock and have seen most of his stuff. If I can't make that showing I may catch Maggie's Plan , which looks like could be fun.
Carlos -- DO IT. Strangers is pretty amazing.
Nathaniel, that headline is provoking all my obsessive-compulsive, Grammar Na--- (no, I won't use that word today) tendencies to the max. Please do not encourage young people and non-native English speakers to engage in pronoun abuse! Save the objective case! Respect the accusative pronoun!
Are you joining the beard growing cult.
mark -- no. i shaved everything hours after this photo was taken :)
You look masculine and distinguished with facial hair.
I'm getting 1975 Richard Dreyfuss.
I will be one of the last 5 people on Earth to watch Frozen, and it's for a work brainstorming thing.
And I'll probably check out "Guys Need Wedding Dates" because it looks stoopId funny.
Paul Outlaw - but there's nothing wrong with the headline! "Me" is the right pronoun here.
N--you look happy in this photo. Cool mug, Alejandro!
But, ugh, what another shit week. This photo reminds me that I don't want anything current or deep; just something fun and playful, like old screwball Hollywood. Maybe dig out DVDs of The Awful Truth or It Happened One Night. I need Irene Dunne or Myrna Loy or Carole Lombard.
Mike -i changed it post Paul's note. I was dumb and said "I"
Pam -- GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES our Tuesday movie ;)
Nathaniel must have been channeling Marilyn Monroe's Lorelei Lee in preparation for Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Lorelei is noted for saying "a girl like I".
Nathaniel - I did got watch it. It's great! :D
(Although I did find Fairly Granger so bland haha)
