My favorite genre of movies are ones in which Saoirse Ronan:

Should we have a "Lady Bird" week where we truly obsess? Considering it. MORE AFTER THE JUMP including Wonderstruck, Justice League, Star Wars ghosts, and kindred spirits in James Dean fandom...
It's weird how Todd Haynes' Inimitable Genius has conditioned me to believe that my not liking WONDERSTRUCK is clearly, obviously, a fault of my own, and not one of his film-making. But I'm fine with that. He's earned that.

It would be easier to walk across town to see @mudboundmovie in a theater than finding it in my @netflix queue ...

How’d they get Chadwick Boseman to do Black Panther did someone tell him it’s based on a true story

my favorite scene in star wars is when the ghost gets tired and sits on a log pic.twitter.com/aWYbesQmU2

There's a horrifying moment in WONDER when the kids are about to watch THE WIZARD OF OZ in the wrong aspect ratio but then they leave. Whew.

JUSTICE LEAGUESometimes it's just worth remembering that Sandra Bernhard gives the best performance by anybody, man or woman, in a Martin Scorsese movie. https://t.co/OxdrozHYBH

Ezra Miller is too pretty. I don't trust it. That jawline is plottin' something.

Favorite thing I heard at the #JusticeLeague after party: “Why does Jason Momoa have security? He is twice the size of both of his guards.”

1. Lois Smith, LADY BIRD
2. Kate Micucci, THE LITTLE HOURS
3. Aubrey Plaza, THE LITTLE HOURS
4. Alison Brie, THE LITTLE HOURS
5. Melissa Leo, NOVITIATE
It's Tuesday, November 14th, 2017, 3:04 PM Eastern Standard Time, and I think Margot Robbie might win Best Actress this year.

I hope Steven Spielberg knows if The Post isn't good and he wasted Carrie Coon's time, that's actually a federal crime!

and a bit of political humor to go
because if we don't laugh we'll never stop crying and the demented moral void cancer that's spreading across America
Sorry to straight people who keep finding out their heroes suck but you should've listened to gays and worshiped 52-year-old actresses who specialize in monologues about their crumbling marriage.

I’m loving Lois Smith’s career now - how cool is she for an 87 year old woman?
If Judi wants a nomination this year, she needs to up her game :D
I think I want Ronan to win. But I don't want her screen mother co-star to. Supporting has a couple of juicy options superior to Jackie from Roseanne. Allison Janney, Holly Hunter, Michelle Pfeiffer, Tiffany Haddish, Kristin Scott Thomas, Leslie Manville.
Lois Smith for Honorary Oscar 2018
I think Dench grabs the 5th spot seeing how it's clear 4 names will be called Sally,Frances,Saorsie and Margot,Dench feels like a passion vote type film, someone who is wrtitten off fairly early then bounces back.
Can we also have nominations for Beanie Feldstein and Tracy Letts?
/3rtful, her name is Laurie Metcalfe. And we haven't even seen Manville.
Yes, yes, yes to Lady Bird week. And can I just say that I so appreciate that A24 actually, you know, releases their films? I don't think I'll be able to see 'Call Me By Your Name' until January... :(
DITTO Tyler. CMBYN won't expand to my town till January 19th. Ugh and I've only heard about it constantly for the entire year since Sundance.
But yes yes YESSSS to Lady Bird week. Saw it on Friday and loved it and went again Saturday.
I also think Robbie might win Best Actress this year.
I can only obsess over being desperate to see Lady Bird! As much as I obsessed over Brooklyn. Don't get me started: Saoirse should have won the Oscar and not the insipid Brie Larson. Yet another thing to obsess about: the desire to see On Chesil Beach next year. I hope Saoirse is nominated both this year for Lady Bird and next year for Chesil. And, please, someone write a script for Ronan and Streep! I know that Meryl is a fan.
I am going to be so sad if Robbie takes actress with Ronan right there.
Ronan does have the Mary Queen of Scots movie with Robbie next Christmas.
Ronan doesn’t exactly have win-worthy reviews, does she? I don’t think she’s in it for the win but we will see. She is a strong contender for a nomination at this point but could still easily slip out.
With that said, I don’t get buzz at all sometimes. Stone is about 100x better this year than she was last year (she should not have been in contention for the win at all last year but this year, she’s the favorite I’ve seen yet) but most are not even predicting a nom for her at this point. Bizzare. It’s be interesting to see the critics prizes this year.
I would just like to say I second, or 3rd an all Lady Bird week! Or an all Lois Smith week for that matter.
Just saw Lady Bird and absolutely loved it. I really think Ronan can wim Best Actress.
have i lost it or was the editing in lady bird crazy good ??? editing nom for sure for that film - just great.
I think Actress is pretty sewn up now, right? ...Hawkins, McDormand,Robbie, Ronan, Streep
Too close to call though, I can really see any one of them winning it.
I think Ronan will be the next Meryl Streep .
JB : I think you are correct. I do not see how Bening, Stone, Dench, or Chastain can penetrate those 5. Voting is going to be so close though.
JB & MR -- i still think this is up in the air. those are the five most likely yes but we dont even have the first set of nominees or winners from a precursor so things could still happen.
S -- LOIS SMITH INTERVIEW COMING UP!
I first noticed Lois Smith in minority report and damn did she make quite an impression.
Why do people thing Meryl is a sure thing? People haven’t even seen the filmvyet, right?
rohan will be may be.!
