Beauty Break: Happy 25th Anniversary to Bening & Beatty
Warren Beatty and Annette Bening were married on this day in 1992 (or thereabouts* -- different sources online disagree on which day in March. Google and On This Day say March 12th, IMdb and Wikipedia says March 3rd). In other words just couple weeks or so before the 1991 Oscars where their film was to be honored...
Bugsy (1991), the film they met on was up for 10 Oscars (it won 2) that season. They'd both been in the Oscar mix the year before, too, as Beatty's Dick Tracy had received 7 nominations (3 wins) and Bening had received her first nomination for her twinkly eyed con artist in The Grifters (1990). She was an electric new actress on the rise and he was enjoying his last active years of big screen superstardom.
The world doubted that Beatty could ever settle down but here we are 25 years later and their original Vanity Fair headline doesn't seem so outlandishly optimistic. They still seemed happy as can be still on the awards circuit this past season for Rules Don't Apply (his) and 20th Century Women (hers).
The couple have four children, two sons Stephen Ira (born Kathlyn, who just turned 25) and Benjamin and two daughters Isabel and their youngest Ella who turns 17 this year. In other words, they'll be empty nesters very quickly and Bening will be free for full time actressing again! And she'd better do so since she's clearly at the peak of her powers. (No, we're not getting over 20th Century Women any time soon.)
Hollywood Royalty. Here are some of their most gorgeous photos together:

Their chemistry in Bugsy was off the charts, 'why don't you run outside and jerk yourself a soda'
Saw Bugsy last Sunday for the first time in years! It looks phenomenal. Most Beatty movies do.
The score and cinematography for "Love Affair" was gorgeous. I actually really liked that movie.
I do hope he works again, and soon, so we can have one last Big Beatty Oscar Picture, perhaps with a Best Actress for his wife?
She always was too good for him.
What a great couple, and like most people I doubted Beatty's ability to settle down but they certainly have. I look at these photos and can't help but smile.
Wouldn't it be easier after Stephens name to say Trans man rather than bringing up his birth name?
