Jess ♥︎ Isabelle, Part 37
Ginger lovers unite! Vive Cannes indeed. More photos at THR and delicious quotes like this one from Jessica on her first trip to Cannes:
When Tree of Life went to Cannes, all the interviewers were asking me about my favorite actors and actresses because I was new to the industry, and they wanted to get to know me. I was always gushing about this little, unknown actress Isabelle Huppert. (Laughs). Everyone kept saying, "She's here." And so they were trying to get an introduction. We had dinner in Paris. And when I said to her: "Oh, I love you. You're my favorite actress," she goes, "I know." (Laughs.) Because that's how much I was talking about it.

Huppert Chance to win Cannes really big this time...hopefully Oscar also in way. She Was ROBBED by Oscar this year !!!!
Jessica is such a brown noser, wannabe movie star. Go back to the zoo.
One of the most talented actresses and an overrated celebrity. Exactly like every Oscar category !
I have a feeling Huppert says "I know" whenever anybody tells her she's their favorite actress. (And that's one of the million reasons why she's a goddess.)
Jessica Chastain & Isabelle Huppert in a film.... shut the fuck up and take my fucking money.
thevoid99 -- make sure you see THE DISAPPEARANCE OF ELEANOR RIGBY to get your first fix of them together.
thevoid99: Maybe SNATCHED should have cast these two instead of Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer? Mindless summer Hollywood comedy seems to be the way to go.
Two Oscar-less greats. Jessie needs to work with better directors. She's slipping for preferring material over filmmaker.
Chastain has one fantastic performance, a couple great, a couple bad and a bunch in between. She doesn't deserve all the gushing-over "one of our best actresses" chatter as she still has a ton to prove but she sure as hell got potential. I'm a fan.
This cover is giving me life today! I love both of these ladies.
They had zero chemistry in Eleanor Rigby. Maybe that's why I keep reading "give them a movie" on twitter.
Jessica is entering that terrain where I enjoy her more as a celebrity/personality than an actress. She hasn't really wowed me since Zero Dark Thirty, and all of her upcoming projects just seem deliberately Oscar-baity. She sleep walked through The Martian and Zookeeper's Wife. I haven't seen Miss Sloane yet.
Huppert, on the other hand, is eternally fearless. Since she and Haneke both recently have caught Oscar's attention, I hope they can strike again with Happy End..
She doesn't deserve all the gushing-over "one of our best actresses" chatter as she still has a ton to prove
In a world, where Lawrence and Spencer are current darlings to the Academy, I call crap to your above statement.
I love Jessica's enthusiasm for her industry and co-stars. It's so clearly genuine when so many actors probably never even heard of Huppert before this year's Oscars, have no genuine interest in their industry's history and have probably barely seen any movies released before their childhoods.
@3rtful: huh? What does the academy, JLaw or Spencer have anything to do with what I said.
Dude those were Jessie's rival nominees both times she lost.
I think Jessica comes off as geuine and enthusiastic when she mentions films and actors she likes, even if she's trying too hard (mentioning Brecht in her Critics Choice speech), I buy it. And I do think she's one of the best of her generation, at least above average Hollywood movie stars.
