Kidman in Cannes. Part 2.
Hello mortals,
It is me, your ruler and Empress Nicole Kidman here to remind you that perfection is attainable if you work real hard to attain it *giggles* OK, not really, I was born with it.
However, I was sent from my galaxy to share my perfection with you and improve your existence through my many servants across time and space. As I go about being all perfect and stuff at Cannes, I'll leave you with the meek Jose who will tell you stories of my achievements and miracles.
Toodles!
*vanishes in a cloud of lavender scented glitter*
Thanks your highness! Last time we saw Nicole she was pleasing John Cameron Mitchell, Elle Fanning and Sandy Powell by making her first Cannes appearance in Rodarte. Since then there have been a whopping three reports of Kidmanifestations at the French Riviera. Now let us turn our pages to the second chapter of the holy book of Kidman at Cannes. See the holy apparitions after the jump...
Who She Wore: Dior
Which Director She's Trying to Lure: The nature theme of the dress means she's set her eye on Terrence Malick himself.
What would Millicent Clyde think of this: "Charming, now if you excuse me."
I love how freaking sexy Nicole looked for The Killing of a Sacred Deer photocall, she was all "bedroom eyes", "look away from the camera", "touch the stand like it was made out of silk", and demureness galore. Heck, if the sacred deer she wanted me to slay was Bambi, I'd be all like "should I find his siblings too and bring them to you?"
Anything to get this look from her...
Moving on to the premiere of the film...
Who She Wore: Calvin Klein by Appointment
Which Director She's Trying to Lure: Either the ghost of Billy Wilder or jury president Pedro Almodóvar who also loves Audrey Hepburn.
What Would Joanna Eberhart Think of This: "No more black? Are you insane?"
Also, let's take a moment to admire her perfect choice of shoes.
And now for the final holy apparition of this installment...
Who She Wore: Versace
Which Director She's Trying to Lure: Considering Haneke, Pedro, Lanthimos and *everyone* else was there for the 70th anniversary photoshoot, she's clearly trying to attract them all.
What Would Grace Think of This: "The only thing that moves here is the light, but it changes everything."
Until we see Nicole again, you may go in peace.

ENOUGH about Kidman she is beyond over rated a terrible actress 👍
Her super hi profile might actually work against her. The Jury might tink she's a fashion icon rather than a serious actress. Wldn't it b ironic if Farrell won best actor for The Beguiled n Killing of a Sacred Deer instead.. 😂
Love the Dior dress - those detailing on the skirt is beyond beautiful and the metallic green footwear, I WANT! It also reminded me of her famous chartreuse Dior at the Oscars all those years ago.
Wow, she looks incredible.
She is simply divine! How wonderful that she is showcasing 4 very different characters
I agree with AJ.
@Claran -- you can be both a fashion icon and a great actress and I believe a jury consisting of Pedro and Paolo will agree.
She looks incredible - that green dress is the best thing she's worn in years.
But woah - those hands
Anyone whining about too much Nicole Kidman talk is on the wrong site. This is an actressexual site. Heavy on the actress talk. Kidman has been one of Nathaniel"s top actresses for nearly as long as this site has been in existence. Even in slow periods of her career, she'll get discussed here for her fashion, movies or whatever else. It's been that way for years, and won't be stopping anytime soon.
I question why anyone who knows anything at all about this site would even make such a ridiculous statement. Kidman watching has been an intrinsic part of this blog for as long as I"ve read it.
Let's see.:
Dior - very earth mother mystic hippie yet there's a sexiness to it. She looks like a modern day version of Claudia from Nine.
Clavin Klein - NOPE. Especially those shoes. Me and Raf Simons will never see eye to eye.
Versace - very nice.
I'm still longing for her to give LOOKS like 2013's year of the jury. Her Valentino from that year is on my top 5 favorite looks from her.
"The Jury might tink she's a fashion icon rather than a serious actress."
I find it hard to believe Almodovar would have such simplistic, sexist opinions of a woman. I just hope you don't have that opinion, Claran.
Nicole Kidman is an icon to us actressexuals.
As I said before, this site is an actressexual haven. Thanks Nathaniel!
Too much Nicole? As if that was possible.
I've had a hard time putting all my Nicole thoughts into words lately. I feel so sorry for the haters.
Imagine spending 120 days in Donald Trump's America without being able to take solace in Nicole Kidman's triumphs.
Imagine finding "Feud" big and satisfying enough to fill the actress-shaped hole in your heart.
Imagine watching "Big Little Lies" and shrugging your shoulders at Nicole's shattering vulnerability.
Imagine feeling unenthused about forthcoming projects by Sofia Coppola, Jane Campion, John Cameron Mitchell and Yorgos Lanthimos.
What a world!
I don't know about the Jury, but I wonder how much envy from fellow actresses Kidman must be getting in Cannes right now. Looking at that big class photo they took today made me realise that there are so many A-list Hollywood or European actresses at the festival who would be getting far more attention if the media didn't decide that Kidman was "Queen Of Cannes".
I mean Charlize Theron was in the class photo! She"s as A-list as you can get in Hollywood, but I had no idea she was even in Cannes because they press isn't covering her every move like Kidman. It's very strange and unexpected because Kidman is supposed to be out of her prime as a star attraction, yet when she"s still effortlessly stealing the limelight from her peers. If Kidman wasn't there, I think the like of Theron, Marion Cottilard, Bernice Bejo or any other actresses with a high glamour quotient would be getting much more attention.
Jessica Chastain is getting a decent amount of coverage as a Jury member. She"s probably be dominating the conversation in the fashion/look watching stakes if Kidman wasn't present.
"Kidmanifestation" is genius.
Whatever, fuck her. Sean loved me more.
Loving the wig
Her hands say 65, her face says 35
Yeah AJ, I'm with the others. Obviously Kidman is the most bafflingly overrated human alive, but this is soo the wrong site to complain about it. I mean someone totally just used the phrase "Trump's America" in the same sentence as Kidman and didn't think twice about .... Y'know....
I guess I just don't get the point of hating on someone who after a 36 years career still delivers the work, still shows up and still acts graciously. What goes wrong in someone's psyche that they are ok bashing and trolling a complete stranger who has done nothing but positive things?
I HIGHLY disagree with AJ & K
QUEEN OF CANNES! Has a nice sound to it.
I don't like her lippy too severe but otherwise Flawless as usual as she is in the film judging by early reviews.
Have any of her silly films been well reviewed? She pays for all of this PR. I don't like her dance mom plastic surgery look. Soulless
Lol! Thanks for this Nat! And seriously at haters.... better you go to some other sites if you want your words be listened, cause here i think IGNORE is what readers if Film Experience are doing....
Great Nicole this Cannes edition... cant wait to seeall her films and also cant wait to see what she will be wearing today at Beguiled premiere...
Obviously our disliking her acting is bothering everyone on this site or they would not keep defending her. Nzi thought this site was free speech oriented??? It is unless you do not care for Kidman. And the you are asked to shut up. Oh the gayness of it all!!!
She looks absolutely beautiful on the green Dior dress . It's my favorite of the four.
The haters are butt-hurt and I love it! lol
I feel sorry for the non-converted... kidman <3 <3!
