Oh and Today is...
INTERNATIONAL NATALIE WOOD DAY
i.e. a holiday that should be real since July 20th is her birthday. She would have been 79 today... the same age as Diana Rigg, Jon Voight, Terence Stamp, and Richard Beymer who all still work. Imagine what kind of movies and TV projects Natalie Wood could have done in in the past 40 years. *sniffle*  I imagine she would have moved to TV early as so many movie queens did in the 1980s but I bet she would have had a movie comeback too, given that she was still so young when she died.

Why do fat people automatically accuse people who are in shape or have a bulky physique of being on steroids... that's just the way some people are built, just like a person's body can be inclined to pack on fat, if you work out consistently enough that can be muscle. But honestly none of the action stars even look close to being on steroids, other than The Rock and even he eats enough to support the look that he has as well as being of Polynesian background, and before you try to argue, ya'll know you haven't even hit the gym for at least MONTHS-it shows-let alone are familiar with the effects steroids have on ones physical appearance, there's a look, you can tell and just being buff and having muscle isn't it. Steroids have been known to be used in Hollywood but not on the level you are trying to propagate it as. God being gay is so annoying sometimes... my people can be so damn judgemental and rude.

T -- why do you assume i'm fat. LOL. speaking of judgmental ;)

Miss Broccoli: Unless it manages to happen BEFORE Daniel Craig leaves Bond? Don't take Nolan up on it. Nolan-esque James Bond is what Craig's entire era has been, in terms of tone, and we need something better after this for the new actor or actress, regardless of ethnic background, to do.

July 20, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterVolvagia

volvagia -- in the article Nolan specifically states that he'd only do it if it was a new Bond, and he could start it again as in Casino Royale

I'm still not over Natalie Wood's death.. and I wasn't even born then :(

July 20, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterBrad

Nat: And, as I said, if that's the only way Nolan would do it? DON'T. Nolan has NOTHING to offer this property for a reboot.

Felicity Jones is a weird-ass choice for RBG. I thought Natalie was really excited about this project. She spent forever trying to find a female director. Why is she backing out now?

"But honestly none of the action stars even look close to being on steroids, other than The Rock"

While many action stars have builds you don't necessarily need steroids to get you can't always tell if someone is on steroids just by looking at them. You hear a lot of stories about movie stars putting on a lot of muscle in a pretty short period of time and unless they are really genetically blessed some of them must be using steroids to put on a lot of pounds of muscle that quickly.

Good, I don't want Portman in a biopic, unless Pablo Larson directs again that is

Aaron: Agreed. British wuss actresses playing characters that are supposed to be "fierce" has generally resulted in disastrous performances. Mia Wasikowska's Burton Alice. Carey Mulligan's Bathsheba Everdeen. Felicity Jones' Jyn Erso. And as far as throwing an American accent into that, tell me, how good is Carey Mulligan in Inside Llewyn Davis?

July 20, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterVolvagia

Mia Wasikowska is Australian.

I always like to imagine that, had Natalie Wood still been alive, she would've had some sort of role in Twin Peaks like her West Side Story co-stars Richard Beymer and Russ Tamblyn. She would've been so great!

Replacing Portman with Felicity Jones? Good Lord, that's like the biggest trade-down I could conceive of.

I was really keen to see an RBG biopic but not so keen that I'd be willing to stomach two-hours-plus of Felicity-Jones-prim-conviction. Especially as steered by Mimi-Deep-Impact-Pay-It-Forward-Leder's "vision".

July 21, 2017 | Unregistered Commentergoran

Felicity Jones is a bad actress and an awful choice for RBG.

Volvagia - so agree with you re: Bond. I know Bond movies aren't really allowed to be fun anymore (at least since after "Casino Royale:), but you're so right. The last few Bond movies have already been Nolan-esque as it is, we don't need to bring him into it. And he should definitely NOT start the series over again. No more origin stories, please.

Thank you so.very much for the Natalie Wood
recognition. Means a lot.

I agree - perhaps Natalie Wood would have gone on to more Tv. She had already started to do some things like from here to eternity - not bad. . I could have seen her in a Dynasty / Colby's / Falcon Crest type show. As much as I love her, I think her days in the movies were over. Possibly a sicom...."Natalie!" About a divorced mom, Natalie Jacobs, with two beautiful daughters (introducing Natasha Gregson), a crusty boss with a deep down heart-of-gold, and a sassy ethnic neighbor. Perhaps her eccentric mom makes cameo appearances - Elaine Stritch, Kay Ballard, Joanne Worley....or Miss Ava Gardner. The show lasts a half a season...just like Faye Dunaway's sitcom.
