Mother! has arrived ~ La Pfeiffer in Venice
by Nathaniel R
Mother! arrives in movie theaters in just one week and people are calling it "insane". So YOU are if you think I'm reading any festival reviews before laying mine own Pfeiffer-deprived eyes upon it. Oh sure I've watched the trailer and the head-tilt clip a million times (good call, Murtada) but that's enough until the whole 121 minutes unspools before me.
Nevertheless we must celebrate the RePfeiffal which gets its first big red carpet outing in Venice. I mean just look at her...
She turns 60 next year and remains the most beautiful movie star in the world.
And check out her heels.
They are begging for closer inspection.
Ahhhh, much better.
Anyway here are more magical pictures of La Pfeiffer's return. (Next red carpet event is The Emmys on Sunday September 17th)
some other people are in mother! too.

We deserve all this celebration! Thanks, Nat.
Ah, and I love the "some other people are in mother! too". ;-)
She looks lovely!
I hope she'll mix her hairstyle up a bit this year...plenty of events ahead. I wanna see straight hair! A low, French side pony! I want to see jewels! Beach hair is great for Jennifer Aniston but not when your bone structure could make the Hope Diamond weep.
The quintessential American beauty.
Now that is a woman. Eat your heart J-Law.
MADAM THOSE HEELS! Slay me, queen.
phabulous :-)
this is like Christmas for Pfeiffer fans

can't wait
Great gowns, beautiful gowns.
Hayden -- good luck with that. She's not a chameleon when it comes to that glorious mane. She tends to stick with one thing for years (she's been doing this look since, oh, 2005 or so?) but yeah, flat ironed would be really fun. it's been awhile since she did that jet straight look. Or a bun of any kind.
Justice for Michelle! Currently the only witch of Eastwick without an Oscar. Her turn is now. One out of four from three decades of nominations is a respectable Oscar record for a living legend.
Why on earth does she not wear Armani anymore? It's very weird, they were friends for decades and then she all of a sudden just stopped wearing his clothes.
I'd LOVEEE her hair up at some point this awards season since I have a feeling she'll be around for awhile hopefully.
I doubt she'll change her hair much but I can hope. I feel like women in their middle aged years tend to stick with one hair look for quite some time like Michelle or Madonna.
u guys mean her hair up, like this??

FABULOUS. And I'm going to just pretend that Michelle and Missi Pyle hung out drinking wine and then did each other's hair for this event a few years ago, because that's just a fun thought.

oh look another elegant, bourgeois white actress for The Film Experience to stan after Nicole Kidman's movie this year flopped
JLaw apparently outshines MP by far in this movie so im happy with that
@beyaccount, Um, well I would hope Lawrence outshone her, seeing as how she is the lead and main focus in the film and MP has a much smaller role.
Upgrade your trash talk.
She looks gorgeous. Too bad her movie is terrible.
@beyaccount be gone, before someone drops a house on you!
Take several seats before you spread your unsolicited negativity against Michelle, Nicole or the film experience.
@ Aretha - I genuinely laughed out loud with that comment. Still one of my all time favorite shades ever.
the thing i think is unintentionally hilarious about beyaccount's second favorite insult is that bey actually thinks we're basic enough to care who has "hits" or not. That's just about the last thing that interests me when it comes to the magic of the movies and the craft of acting.
She looks great! The reviews for the movie promise something absolutely batshit cuckoo-bananas crazy and I'm here for it.
That look alone can get her nominated for an Oscar next year and if she cares to tilt her head the way she did in the trailer, the Oscar's hers! No competition:)
Nathaniel - Will you be seeing this at TIFF to see Pfeiffer in person?
Joseph -- i normally refuse to see things that are opening in theaters during the festival BUT i'll have to make an exception this time because i dont want the movie spoiled for me in any way shape or form which will be impossible if i wait a week to see it.
Nathaniel. Why media never run prediction about venice winner like Cannes did ?
Finallyyyy! La Pfeiffer is here!
I hope that she is gonna rain award after award. She must be celebrated. Michelle looks really predatory in that little clip.
mother! is my most anticipated movie of the year
amazing amy -- i can only assume it's just interest level since Cannes is considered the world's top festival. But Venice is cool, too :)
She looks gorgeous! I have been avoiding all trailers and reviews--is she getting good notices in Mother?
I unfortunately do not think that mother! is going anywhere near the Oscars....

@Joe...she is getting very nice mentions. especially in the ScreenDaily review and Vanity Fair
