trailer of the moment
• It's The Wife. Having seen the movie I must say that this is actually a pretty good trailer. It gives you a nice overview without revealing too much about the characters, the psychological nuances, and the structure and so on. (We were a bit too early discussing it as an Oscar bid last week because no all the other websites are and people are like 'why haven't you said anything? and it's because, uh, I did last week right here).

Exit Video
Keiynan Lonsdale who you'll know from both the CW's Flash and the movie Love, Simon has released a new video "Kiss the Boy" (he identifies as bisexual) and it's composed of sweet fan footage sent to him (though he opens and closes the video. It's so cute.

Glenn Close and Glenda Jackson: Two Triple Crowners in one year?!
Ugh, I get a terrible Lifetime vibe from that Glenn Close film. She is so manly and it looks maudlin.
The gay storyline in BLOCKERS is so well done. Very different to LOVE, SIMON but if that film hadn't have come out just a few weeks earlier it would no doubt be being raved about as revolutionary.
We all know Glenn is the best - but MAUDLIN aside ...an oscar is also about marketing, timing, the quality of the film, the role ..
ellsworth: Are you referring to Glenn Close or Glenn Dunks?
I don't think I can live with the "Glenn Close finally winning" hype for a whole year. It will poison the race and devastate me if it doesn't happen.
The Sinatra film is called JUNIOR, it’s the writer who has “High Hopes”.
BD -- thank you. The 'high hopes' in quotes in the headline threw me off. Fixed.
I don’t know what trailer @Jessica is watching, Lifetime wishes it’s movies looked half as interesting.
I don’t want to get my hopes up too high, but what if Glenn AND Michelle Pfeiffer end up in the Best Actress race this year? Two “overdue” narratives at the same time, in the same category. I wonder who’d draw more support? Of course I’m bracing myself for the complete and utter disappointment of neither of them being recognized, but hopefully the films are good.
Also, I’d love to see Anika onstage. She’s been so undervalued in her screenwork.
I think were all here for Glenn throwing stuff of fine furniture in anger.
so is Glenn, CLOSE?
Notice the IF pops up first before The WIFE at the end credits?
Close the gap, Oscars!! lol
I agree that the trailer is not promising.
Also, there hasn't been a Nobel Prize for Literature awarded to an American male novelist for forty years. I am really tired of film characters who are the unachievable and unrealistic best at everything. Couldn't the character have won a Pulitzer or something?
