Rooney (Carol) needs to be here too : )
yaas city of god
Julia Roberts in 'Closer'! One of her best, most unusual performances.
I know "Closer" is represented by Roberts & Law here but.... the "Just take my picture" scene between Portman and Roberts is simply memorable to me!
My favorite character who is a photographer is the little kid from Edward Yang's masterpiece Yi Yi.
Julia Roberts was so good in Closer. I am still surprised that she didn't get more awards recognition for her performance. Luckily she didn't get discouraged and kept trying new and challenging material. Normal Heart and August Osage County are wonderful performances.
Tom : I agree completely. I thought she was best in show in Closer.
It was not until 20th Century Women that I got what all the fuss was about in re: Elle Fanning. She's terrific in that; would absolutely make my supporting actress line-up that year. Makes such an impression in that film.
You need to add Robin Williams in One Hour Photo. Such a (scary) brilliant performance.
No Blow Up?
Is that Tom Holland?
20th Century Women is the Rachel Getting Married of this decade.
Baffling that either could end up with just one nomination. Somehow that's more offensive than zero nominations, because it means voters saw the movie.
Tom W -- it is, yes.
