Everyone involved in this production deserves better.

@/3rtful - yup.

A movie I've only seen once but think about often. I don't think the three principals involved could ever possibly top this.

My lead & supporting winners that year. Also: Fassy is hot even fixing breakfast.

What a dreadful little film this one was. Cast still managed to shine but goddamn they deserved a better film.

I love this film. 1 of 4 NC-17 rated films in the theaters that I've seen in my lifetime so far which includes The Dreamers, Lust, Caution, and Blue is the Warmest Color and not counting non-rated films such as Antichrist and The Brown Bunny<./i>.

This movie is a MASTERPIECE.
Fassbender and Mulligan were astonishing.

Spin-off for Marianne. Nicole Beharie was breathtaking.

All were amazing, but I remember being really FLOORED by Carey Mulligan.

The post-An Education period when Mulligan was prone to hog supporting roles in movies that she didn’t add anything special to (Drive, Inside Llewyn Davis, Wall Street 2) soured me on her, but Shame is the one exception as she is legitimately sensational in it. (The same goes for Mudbound, but that came later.) Beharie, however, is MVP and should have a bigger, better career as a result of it.

What a Crime that Fassbender and Mulligan dont reseave Oscar Nominations (and wins) for their astanoshing work!!! Movie was great, but the performances were above the Rest of the bunch!

Honeybee -- she sure was. Is her TV show still on? I keep hoping she'll be freed from that for movies again.

@Mareko: I coincide with you but only partially. Brothers, NEver Let Me Go (heart-wrenching), Far from the Madding Crowd and Mudbound.

@Marcos, no, I loved Mulligan in Far from the Maddening Crowd and Never Let Me Go, but those are leading performances vs. the supporting ones that I assume she only did for money (Wall Street 2) or because she wanted to work with the actor/director (Drive, Inside Llewyn Davis). Think of what other, less famous actresses could’ve done—and made—of those parts.
