"Is Taiki Waititi the hottest director right now?"
Agreed. Though I'm not mad at Andrew Haigh (Weekend, God's Own Country) or Robert Eggers (The VVitch, The Lighthouse) either.

In LA this weekend, there's yet another remake of The Intouchables in cinemas, this time from South Korea: Man of Men (or Perfect Man), with The Handmaiden's Cho Jin-woong and The Tower's Sol Kyung-Gu. Odd that they're all coming out within spitting distance of each other!

Jay - Todd Phillips looks like my toe when I rolled it over with a shopping cart. Busted and oozing with disease.

Well, hopefully I speak for other as well as myself, but my attitude towards Spielberg's remake of West Side Story has been "why?". We'll see what he comes up with.

@Jay... I understand what you mean about Philips. He and Brett Ratner belong in a special sub-list I’d title: “Shut up and strip.”

Taika could definitely get it, but Barry Jenkins is my ultimate director crush. And YES to Ryan Coogler and Yorgos Lanthimos as well.

bey -- LOL. wtf?

everyone -- i think the winner of all time for hot-looking director is still CARY FUKUNAGA good lord. he could easily be a movie star.

beyaccount's post made me laugh out loud.

I agree on Taika and Spike Jonze, but Barry Jenkins is the hottest director right now. He has talent, style and personality to match his good looks.

Regarding the Pajiba article, I think longform journalism is having a moment and it can only be a good thing.
