Rebel Anne
by Jason Adams
Rebel Wilson has a rom-com called Isn't It Romantic coming out this Friday with her starring opposite a dreamy Liam Hemsworth -- who was hilariously described on the film's red carpet last night by GLOW actress slash genius Betty Gilpin as a mixture of "Jesus & Brooke Shields," something I 'm never going to be able to un-see -- so what better time to drop the trailer for her next film, which has her starring opposite the dreamy Anne Hathaway? Sounding like a spin on Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (the spin being, uh, they're ladies, holla) say hello to The Hustle.
You don't have long to wait for The Hustle -- it's out in a short three months, on May 10th. Now y'all give me your own "Yes No Maybe So"'s in the comments, please...

I am in on anything Anne Hathaway, but this looks a little too kitschy and overly conventional.
I hope I'm wrong. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.
Anything in which Rebel Wilson isn't just a featured player is gonna be a hard no for me, no matter how much I like Anne Hathaway.
No.
Let's face it - Rebel Wilson is a sentient butt pimple. Gross
Also as I am resident accent police: another terrible English accent to add to Anne Hathaway's collection.
Rebel's great as a guest on talk shows a full movie not so sure.
YES-the last two jokes (trashy dress camouflage and release the peasants) land well and give me hope this will be more than a scene for scene remake.
That laugh at the end-perfection. Hathaway looks like she is having a lot of fun, and I LIKE the accent.
NO-Rebel Wilson being the butt of jokes (ha! She fell! ha! She can't throw a knife! ha! She fell! ha! She thrust her hips!)
MAYBE SO-The original is already perfect, and there are so many scenes that are exactly the same. Flipping the gender could provide some new insights.
Overall, I'm a Maybe So. I love the original, so if the reviews are decent, I'd rent it.
(By the way, when the trailer dropped, I immediately came here to see what you thought of it. Love the Yes, No, Maybe so format and hope you'll do an abbreviated version here in the comments)
I'm still recovering from Anne in SERENITY.
lol
shawshank - are you English?
Why did Annie's career tank so horribly after Les Miz?
Wish Hollywood would stop trying to make fetch* happen. She’s become the Halsey of movies. I like her in small doses, but her bag of tricks isn’t that hefty.
*Rebel Wilson
The trailer isn't super inspiring but I'm a yes on principle. It seems fun enough and we don't get a lot of mid-range comedies these days,
I dont know why Anne insists on english accents. She has proved time and time again she cant sustain one.
Grumpy Old Commenters. This looks funny to me.
FWIW, when the New York Times interviewed Hathaway recently to promote "Serenity", she mentions that she has a hard time with English accents and tried to talk the director/producers of "The Hustle" out of it.
I think this looks fun. Plus, Queen Anne being slimy and full of charm. Yeah, I'll go see it. It's the Queen.
OK, man. Take all my NOs.
Hmm, not sure about Anne's accent.
Makes me want to watch Heartbreakers. Does anyone remember that movie? I thought it was silly but fun and Sigourney Weaver was totally nomination worthy in it!
yes for me. looks like it would be a very good post-awards season palate cleanser. shame it is still 3 months away.
Nasty Women is a much, much better title than The Hustle.
This looks so fun!
Looks terrible. Saddest thing of all - performances seem chringey.
Just rewatch Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
