Beauty Break: National Book Lovers Day

Curated by Nathaniel R

Clark Gable reading about Rhett Butler. Research!

Today is National Book Lovers Day so we thought we'd celebrate with heavenly creatures getting their book club on. Please enjoy these stars reading (or pretending to read) books for pleasure, or work, or photo-op purposes. Or sometimes as a character in a movie. We love this sort of pic as it's harder and harder in the real world to know what people are reading. You can no longer track what the hot book is by glancing around on the subway -- it's how i discovered lots of great books in the Aughts -- because everyone reads on very private tablets now.

Photo gallery after the jump...

Wonderful collection! Love all the pix, the Mark Ruffalo one made me chuckle.

Who knows how many are real and which are posed but I know Marilyn was an avid reader.

One detail that caught my eye was Joanne Woodward with a cigarette. It surprised me, she never struck me as a smoker.

I think Barbara Stanwyck is at the Brown Derby. From both the book and the caricatures on the wall it seems that way.

It looks like Ginger Rogers is reading “Nijinsky.”

Reese has recommended some good light beach reads. I particularly enjoyed Daisy Jones and the Six, about a fictitious Fleetwood Mac-type band. I hope the pandemic doesn't derail the plans for a Amazon limited series adaptation of that book. Riley Keough is great casting.

These photos are fascinating! They make are beloved and beautiful stars appear more human (whether staged or not). Harry Belafonte, Joan Crawford, Joanne Woodward, Eartha Kitt, and Barbara Stanwyck are favorites.

I am a big fan of books and spend a lot of time reading them. One of my favorite books is "Epic of Gilgamesh", because it perfectly reveals the theme of women. At https://studydriver.com/the-role-of-women-in-the-epic-of-gilgamesh/ you can read about it and I think that this topic will also interest you, you may even want to read, because it's very cool.

I have thought so many times of entering the blogging world as I love reading them. I think I finally have the courage to give it a try. Thank you so much for all of the ideas!

I like reading books, but I prefer paper options rather than electronic ones. Sometimes it seems to me that reading is the best activity that gives me great pleasure. But at the same time, it takes me a lot of free time. If I have a choice - to complete a task from the university or read a book, then I will choose the second option. At the moment, all my essays are made by a special service paper writing service .I even get praise from teachers. I do not know what I would do without this service.
