/Film Focus Features is joining the 'everyone's offering a streaming option' frontier with free movies on Mondays from their catalogue
The Sheila Variations March screening logs (we love reading other people's comprehensive screening logs)

AV Club potential franchise Artemis Fowl is skipping theaters and going straight to Disney+ -it's based on a series of kids fantasy books. Fairies figure prominently

Life Hacker lots of free HBO for people during the quarantine
Rick's Real/Reel Life a long in depth piece on All About Eve
Film School Rejects if you really want to submit yourself to it, here's a list of pandemic movies available to stream right now

Marvel Cinematic Universe
For those who are interested and I know that's definitely not all of you. They've moved their dates around quite a bit so now it's looking like so...

  • Black Widow - Nov 6th, 2020
  • The Eternals - Feb 12th, 2021
  • Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings- May 7th, 2021
  • Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness - Nov 5th, 2021
  • Thor: Love and Thunder - Feb 18th, 2021
  • Black Panther 2 - May 8th, 2022
  • Captain Marvel 2 - July 8th, 2022

  • DATE UNKNOWN: Spider-Man 3  (due July 2021 originally but filming has been postponed indefinitely), The New Mutants (forever cursed in terms of release date and it's not really part of the MCU anyway so we cant figure why they don't just dump it to Disney+), Blade, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, Ant Man and the Wasp Sequel, Deadpool 3, Fantastic Four, and at some point the X-Men iwill be included.
  • DISNEY+ SERIES: Falcon & Winter Soldier, Wandavision, Loki, What If?, Hawkeye, Ms Marvel, Moon Knight, and She Hulk.

On Patricia B's departure I was just watching Fur this weekend wondering when Warner Archive would offer us a Blu-ray edition. I have a copy of her Arbus biography since I'm so partial to the movie.

I'm with you on this revisionist Hollywood history- it's not if like the the real story is not interesting enough. And what ever happened to the Montgomery Clift bio- prime actor Oscar bait role?

Are all those films that are being shifted on VOD going to be eligible for Oscars?

So the summer movies are being pushed to the oscar season calendar, when the oscar hopefuls will premiere then? Could someone write an article about how this pandemic will affect oscar 21? I'd like to hear TFE opinion on that topic.

We’ve all seen how Ryan Murphy’s brand of Hollywood revisionism slandered Olivia de Haviland (Bette vs Joan). I’ll take a pass on his forthcoming project.

If you haven't read Bosworth's bio on Clift, it is well worth your time. It's a fantastic piece of work, and made me appreciate Monty even more (as if that was possible).

moviefilm, the Golden Globes have apparently made a ruling that they'll qualify if they went VOD.

Thanks for the shout out, Nathaniel!

Since school has been cancelled in Michigan for the '19-'20 year, I have had plenty of opportunity for more indepth pieces!

Cheers and stay safe and healthy,

Rick

Thanks for the link, Nathaniel...hope you enjoyed the post!

The movie release schedule is in shambles now, but I can't see how all these Marvel movies can share such little theatrical windows before the NEXT BIG THING. And put me down as not shocked about Artemis Fowl. I have two kids in the demographic and they just looked sad during the trailer.
