Yeun Trouble Now
by Jason Adams
It's really no surprise that writer-director Jordan Peele is at that point in his career, after Get Out and Us, where he could land anybody he wanted to land for the cast of his next movie -- he's got the sort of heat that would get the dead stars of yore reanimating in their caskets for a slice of that sweet cinematic success. But instead of choosing, say, the skeleton of Gary Cooper to star in his next flick, Mr. Peele is going with a cast of current babes and we cannot complain! (Although hey Gary Cooper's skeleton, call me.)
The title and the contents of Peele's new one are naturally being kept under wraps but we already know it will reunite him with his Get Out leading man Daniel Kaluuya as well as co-star the should-be-a-superstar-already KeKe Palmer -- this was announced back in February, along with the whisper that whatever this movie is KeKe is playing the villain in it. And today comes word that that tag-team of hot trouble is actually a trouble throuple, as Best Actor nominee and everybody-crush Steven Yeun is also joining the film. As who? Who cares? Very excited to see him fully transition into blockbusters. I’m also looking forward to seeing Keke Palmer here, who is endlessly entertaining (so good and Globe worthy in Hustlers).
I hope we get to see Kaluuya play a baddie. He was so good as one in Widows.
Everything about this is exciting. Glad for Steven and especially Keke, she should be where Zendaya is by now. I'm so anxious to see what the story will be for this film.
Excited cos I loved Peele's first 2 but I don't find Yeun appealing or as hot and charasmatic as others but he is good casting.
markgordonuk, ditto!
Finally we have a successful Asian American leading man getting mainstream success and Oscar nominations (for the first time ever!) and now let’s all shit on him in the comment section! Really. That’s not a good look guys. Your true colors are showing.
He’s beautiful and talented and charming and I can’t wait to see where his career goes.
Isn’t there a more flattering photo of this gorgeous man?
Aww I thought he looks adorable in this photo. He's all bashful in the corner.
Yeun and Peele already have a Twilight Zone episode on their joint resumé, so I guess they like working together.
John what you are saying is because other people enjoy his acting and think he's good looking we all should,I think we all have our on minds and preferences and we should celebrate them not attack if someone dislikes something,my comment had nothing to do with his ethnicity .
Keke gets on my nerves.
Very cute title pun.
PEOPLE honestly... what are these comments?
Jason -- i love this photo too. He's been looking so sexy lately but here he is just being cute and fauxbashful
this project is so exciting. I loooooove Keke Palmer. I have't been quite as entranced by Kaluuya (i dont really understand the hoopla about the Judas performances) as others have been but he's certainly a good actor (particularly in Get Out where he was perfect and Widows where he was terrifying)
Yeun, stealing scenes since The Walking Dead's 1st episode. Fantastic actor.
Nathaniel, thank you for removing the comment I didn't type and in which my name was used. It's terrible to have a comment moderator, but it seems that people never learn. We must respect places like this blog, so dear for those who love cinema and entertainment.
I love Steven Yeun as an actor and just to look at him too. Gorgeous, talented man.
I hated Us (seriously, those plot holes were GAPING), but I'm still keeping my eye out for this. Especially if it means a juicy awards-worthy role for Keke Palmer... :D as per usual, my main reason for intrigue is an actress.
