Can't tell if Koala is happy or not, but Russell Crowe definitely is.

If we didn't know him already - that BAFTA incident, the Meg Ryan stuff - that pic would be like, one of the cutest things ever... (funny note, an ex of mine, film director, was telling me that I was a Spanish Russell Crowe... LOOOOOLLLL)

Beefy Russell Crowe works for me! The Koala is cute too!

I bet that adorable koala sings better than Crowe did in Les Mis.

Jesus Alonso - Really??!! Spanish Russell Crowe??!! Now we want pictures. 😉

Agree that he's sexier now thank in his Maximus times. In his case, The older and the chubbier the better.

His star has faded a bit as he's aged but SUCH a good actor, even in smaller parts. A movie star that can act.

April 9, 2021 | Unregistered CommenterAnon

He was robbed of a nom or at least awards consideration for BOY ERASED. That last scene!

I heard his father passed away recently and he must've been through a rough time but I just heard he just did a cameo appearance in Thor: Love & Thunder possibly as an actor in the Asgardian Community Theatre group with Sam Neill, Matt Damon, Luke Hemsworth, and Melissa McCarthy. Rumor has it he is playing... Thanos.

Honestly, if doing things like this is making him happy and not take himself seriously. Then that's good. Plus, I think it's time for him to do a few comedies. He's pretty funny.

God.

The end.

My lord is he hawt.

Come to me, Jesus (Alonso)

I heard he was really good in "The True Story of the Kelly Gang".

He's gained a lot of weight. I don't like it.

my crush on him during early 00's was INTENSE

The thing with Russell Crowe is that he had... a lot of stuff going on for a while there, but he appears to have really changed from the brute to the huggable bear type and I love that for him. If you follow him on Twitter, he's usually an utter delight who doesn't suffer bullshit, and wants to share goodness and then I loved his GG speech about climate charge. Totally forgot he was dating the Irwin woman, though!

Chlamydia is endemic in our koala population - I hope he washed his hands afterwards

I thought he was best in show in Les Misérables. Not the singing, but the heart.

@Feline Justice, it's a pity I can't post a picture of me back at the day my ex was saying that about me... but Nathaniel knows me from Facebook and our Oscarwatch days, so he probably can understand some similarity... obviously my ex tried to flatter me hahaha... but beard, hairy, you do the math.

April 10, 2021 | Unregistered CommenterJesus Alonso

That's style. His beard combines with the furry koala

The Meg Ryan/BAFTA stuff was 20 years ago. Other actors have already been given a pass for more recent pitfalls.

But I echo a few points made in the comments already: he acted brilliantly as Javert on Les Miserables, certainly circles around Hugh Jackman (who didn't sing that well either).

Russell is quite the funny guy, and should do more comedies. How funny? Five words: John Oliver Koala Chlamydia Ward . That might never be topped.

Being based in Australia probably contributed to his star "fading", and maybe letting go of some vanity. When he does get work, the man has still GOT IT, acting wise.
