Fun idea for the Academy:
Pick awards presenters ONLY FROM THIS LIST!!!
Remember how much fun Eva Marie Saint was telling us that little anecdote before she presented?
Or just pair them with younger stars like the time Kim Novak and Matthew McConaughey presented.
I read Lee Grant's book, fascinating stuff, she really goes deep into Airport 77 so it's must for Lee fans.
So grateful for you Nathaniel for keeping this list updated!!
you forgot to add, Mel Brooks is an Oscar winner (Original Screenplay, The Producers). He was double nominated again, in the same year, both for Original (Blazing Saddles) and Adapted (Young Frankenstein), an accolade I doubt any other writer has ever achieved...
Mel Brooks wasn't nominated for Screenplay for Blazing Saddles. He was, however, nominated for writing the lyrics to the title song.
That is not my comment. Everybody knows that Angela has never won an Emmy. Impersonate me but don't make me look illiterate.
Duvall has several films coming out next year, including one where he appears to be the lead/co-lead. Very excited to see those and just glad that we have so many legends still working.
I'm a proud gerontophile.
American Horror Story: HAGSPLOITATION
June Squibb + Estelle Parsons + Jacqueline Bisset
Imagine the possibilities!
I had no idea Vera Miles was still living.
May I add Carol Lawrence (9/05/1932)? An actress/singer/dancer - "A View From the Bridge", but after that mostly TV, including guest spot on "Sex and the City", married Robert Goulet, but most famous as the original Maria in Broadway's "West Side Story."
Man, do I feel old. I remember watching so many of these people in the primes of their careers and putting ages to them now kind of shocks me.
Number One on the list, Marsha Hunt, has had a remarkable life and is a great lady.
@MrRipley79: totally enjoyed Lee Grant's book as well - it was heartfelt but also dishy. I esp loved the part where she and Shelley Winters went at it (she thought Shelley was a bully). She's a really cool woman!
I’m always amazed Harry Belafonte and Sidney Poitier are still alive.
Ignacio López Tarso 1925 Under the volcano , el hombre de papel
Genevieve Page 1927
And now take one down. Matthew Rettenmund from Gr8rDays is reporting that Joan Copeland has passed earlier today.
Speaking of the exquisite Genevieve Page, her co-star from Belle de Jour, Jean Sorel (b. 1934), is happily still alive.
And speaking of Belle de Jour, I just checked, and the great Francoise Fabian (b. 1933) (also My Night at Maud's, Happy New Year, Out 1) is still with us.
Gene Rowlands lives in our Country Club ... she looks quite well, but unfortunately she has
