Even in a brilliant year for Supporting Actress...I'd still give her my award for this.

She was awesome and definitely a rare case where one of the most hated characters in literature is captured perfectly in that performance. Man, I wanted to kill Imelda Staunton throughout that whole film and she gave me exactly what I wanted times 10.

Voldemort was evil but... she was the worst.

She gives the best performance of the whole series. I was skeptical upon hearing of the casting since the book describes the character as basically a walking upright toad, and well...that doesn't describe Staunton at all. But dang did she nail that part! Nearly every actor in the series gets their own little moments (Jason Isaacs and Helen McCroy in particular) but she steals the entire movie.

Utterly hateful, perfect performance, can't wait for The Crown

Ms Staunton was indeed great but my personal pick for best performance would go to Helena Bonham Carter solely for the scene in Gringott's where she has to play Hermione playing Bellatrix.
