Linkin' along

Today's must read: Megan Garber at The Atlantic has a fascinating piece on sexual dignity and freedom (in current pop culture like Good Luck To You Leo Grande, Grace & Frankie, and Hacks) and the fall of Roe v Wade (in current reality)

More after the jump including BIFA awards changes, Todd Haynes long banned Superstar, Steven Yeun's role in Nope, Jodie Foster's new role, and the Pride cover for British Vogue featuring actresses Cynthia Erivo, Cara Delivingne, and Ariana DeBose...

EW Great interview with Todd Haynes about his career (he also mentions that Superstar, his long banned movie about The Carpents, told with dolls, has been remastered and he believes it will find a way legally to being released again. Yayyyyy. If you haven't seen a bootleg know that it's so so good)
Jupiter's Claim <-- new website connected to Steven Yeun's character, apparently a former reality tv star, in Jordan Peel's Nope
Deadline Dune: Part Two begins filming on July 21st in Budapest. The release has also been pushed back a month to Nov 17th, 2023

Finally...
Here's the British Vogue Pride Cover with 12 beauties. Because this is an LGBTQ+ cover from British Vogue, it's naturally heavy on British models. You can read the cover story here but here's more on each of them.

British Vogue August 2022 cover by Mert Alaş and Marcus Piggott

From left to right: Actress/model Cara Delevingne, actress/singer Cynthia Erivo (who recently came out as bi), Oscar-winning triple-threat Ariana DeBose, model Jordan Barrett, and model/podcaster Munroe Bergdorf are on the front of the cover, followed by model Sheera Ravindren, photographer/model Cameron Lee Phan, model Aweng Chuol, model Nathan Westling, model Valentina Sampaio, makeup and drag artist Gottmik, and poet/activist Kai-Isaiah Jamal in the foldouts.

I have seen Superstar. It's an incredible film and I am eager to see it remastered as I hope it still has the power to shock as well as give Richard Carpenter the middle finger. I think he is gay. It is a shame he won't come out. Him and Paul Stanley of KISS.
