The Link'll Come Out Tomorrow
Bleeding Cool weird Bond 23 rumor. Red Sky At Night is a possible title.
A Socialite's Life shares the dread news that Will Smith is planning to foist his daughter Willow upon the public in a remake of Annie. I have no idea why I find his desire to make his children famous so very creepy but I do. Maybe it's just an aversion to the "family business" thing. I think I've seen too many movies where young adults or children are scarred by their parents insistence that they follow in their footsteps instead of seeking their own path.
Towleroad my brief bit on The Way Back
Gold Derby potential shockers on Oscar morning? Here's a rundown but given that we're talking about them, how shocking could they really be?
Boing Boing Oh look it's John Cusack as Edgar Allan Poe in The Raven (2011).
Carpetbagger has the Banksy acceptance speech, We were just talking about acceptance speeches and how they can affect your campaign.
Now is not the time for a long rambling self-indulgent speech. I’ll leave that to the director of “Waiting for Superman.” I’d like to thank the Cinema Eye Awards. It’s great to be recognized by people who are so obsessive about the documentary genre. In other words, people who are even more socially retarded than myself…How can you be sure this award is real? I’d like to categorically assure you this evening’s awards are not being staged by actors for a parody on making a film about the film awards circuit…I’d like to dedicate this award to anyone out there who has ever looked at the state of the world and thought, ‘I can’t just stand idly and watch this happen… I should get it on tape.
One presumes that Banksy could give a rat's ass about awards.

I thought the producer of Exit Through the Gift Shop made that speech, not Bansky...
or did the producer just read what Bansky told him to (he was obviously not attending)?
Ahh, I'm really looking forward to The Raven.
alex -- it was banksy's speech that the producer read.
Hailee Steinfeld will be Supporting.
Paul Giamatti will not be nominated.
Lesley Manville and Miranda Richardson are possibilities. Olivia Williams isn't.
Bardem has a VERY small chance at a nod. Swinton doesn't.
Best Director is going to have at least one shocker.
Pete Postlethwaite has no chance. Jeremy Renner is a reasonable guess.
Noomi Rapace will get nominated when hell freezes over. (Of course, hell could be cold.)
The 3rd Animation nom will be Illusionist, Tangled, or Despicable Me. The owl movie is out.
There will either be one or zero Black Swan supporting members nominated.
Ghost Writer, Barney's Version, and Biutiful are not in the Screenplay race.
andrew -- you're so certain! i wouldn't count out THE GHOST WRITER screenplay. the writer's guild rarely lines up exactly. But I think you're right about most of these ;)
I kind of like "Red Sky at Night." It's dramatic. Of course, it makes me think of sailors, so if there aren't any sailors in the movie, it seems like a missed opportunity.
You could probably say that exact same thing about a lot of movies, though.
A Lesley Manville nomination won't be shocking at this point, more like a mild surprise. Same with Bardem who had Julia Fricking Roberts endorsing him.
It's too bad that Will and Jada won't just let their kids be actual kids. And does "Annie" really need remaking? Or "The Karate Kid"? Or "A Star Is Born"? Oh wells. But I'm not gonna lie. I love me some "Whip My Hair."
@Nate-Actually, not super certain about some. I just stated my final conclusions, because I took a little time to think about it.
