Finally, have you been reading all the pieces about whether or not The King's Speech can defeat The Social Network? Some subjects just take on a life of their own whether or not they're yet relevant. Some say it can, some say it can't but you know what I think it all comes down to? What their nomination tallies are like come Tuesday morning and how large The King's Speech's box office (and roughly parallel, the audience fervor) grows. These are the principle reasons why I haven't jumped into the debate. The competition for Oscar is an entirely different race, after the nominations. Don't you think?

The Social Network > The King's Speech, though. If The Social Network wins Best Picture it'll be the most deserving BP win since like...06, I think.
I love how we're always after the next big thing. "Felicity Jones is this years Carey Mulligan." I just finished reading somewhere else that "Elizabeth Olsen is this years Jennifer Lawrence" Why must we always compare new talent? Does it mean that Mulligan and Lawrence only have a shelf life of one to two years? Its somewhat ridiculous. But I must admit I'm a little curious for the discovery of "this years Mia Wasikowska"

Well, "The King's Speech" just won the PGA over "The Social Network," so if there's a time for you to "pick sides," I'd guess it starts right about now.
though the special effects for TSN aren't that indulgent. i believe that they DID hold an open casting call for twins, but once they found out that 6'5 identical twins who could both act was actually a lot more difficult to find than they originally thought, they finally gave up and then switched to a body double.
In the past, Sir Tony has played (among other historical characters) Yitzak Rabin, Adolf Hitler, Richard Nixon, John Harvey Kellogg, Pablo Picasso and John Quincy Adams, with physical resemblances to the real thing ranging from very little to none at all. At least this time, he'd be playing a fellow countryman.
Kings Speech won the PGA. I'm glad it's not such a 1 man race anymore, but I would rather Black Swan (hell, even Inception) win it ove TKS. I think TSN is better than TKS, but, glad for the competition.
i COMPLETELY agree on what you said about TKS and its hopes. The nominations haven't even come out yet, and people are already going nuts? Oh please. I'm glad you haven't bought into the hype, Nathaniel.
If I was part of a public transportation board, I'd include celebrities in those signs for reserved seats: elderly people, people with crutches, pregnant women and celebrities (a drawing wearing sunglasses). That would make commuting sitting down more exciting: will I have to get up to let a celebrity sit down? which one?. It would never happen of course, but isn't the subway the ideal place for daydreaming anyway?
