Streep Reader Ranking ~ Coming Soon

While Meryl continues her triumphant march towards Oscar nomination #17 for The Iron Lady (and possible Oscar #3) we've been tabulating your opinions about her 16 previous nominations.

I received a lot of mail about this and since I love reader participation  I'm not complaining! Don't misunderstand. But that means it's taking me some time to tally up the results including, most beloved performances, which performances are underseen but have über-devotees and so on. I'm halfway through so results are coming next weekend but a few sneak peeks before then. Stay tuned!

I'm also looking forward to this and I, too, forgot to submit...

I did vote! and I've seen ALL the performances. Do I get a bonus point for that?

January 8, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterPeggy Sue

Oook Nathaniel, don't worry!

@PeggySue-- Hey, I've seen all (except The Iron lady) performances too... Shall we share the bonus point? ahahah =)

I've voted just the performances she has been nominated for... curious about the results!

I've seen The Iron Lady! Nathaniel, feel free to add it at the bottom of my list.

Peggy Sue -- LOL. the performance didn't work for you then?

Meryl is just OUTSTANDING in The Iron Lady, really amazing even for her standards.

Cannot wait!!!

I'm not into mimicry. I won't deny it's a virtuous performance but I get quite distracted by the hair, the teeth and the double chin. I rather care about other aspects of such an iconic character

mimicry is such a put down. did you use such terminology for Philip Seymour Hoffman or Jamie Foxx or Helen Mirren or Sean Penn?

Hi, when are you going to a announce the Film Bitch awards for best actress? I hope Meryl is on that list, I know you didn't liked the movie but her performance must be terrific. I'm writting from a country called Ecuador, where this kind odf films never get to and qe have to buy pirate movies. It's not our fault, "the reader" came to theaters on december of this last year and "Black Swan" hasn't come in original yet. I began to read your blog three years ago because of "Streep at 60" and the awards are my favorite part, please post them soon.

Brandz

Again you voice my own opinions before I get the chance to write them first ... Good Going!!!!!!!!!

I honestly have gotten to the point where when I read the words "Meryl" and/or "Streep" here (or anywhere else) I immediately zone-out in a state of frightful boredom and zip off elsewhere. What the hell happened? I used to like her very much, if not love her (Sophie's Choice is one of the all-time greats on my personal "best" list.)

Can't say that I'm bored with Meryl! Seriously, I've been totally obsessed with clips from Meryl's AFI tribute this last week...can you believe it's been 7+ years! If anyone has not seen the Tracey Ullman, Jim Carrey and Nora Ephron speeches, you must check them out...beware though...they are weirdly edited...particularly Jim Carrey's hilariously manic tribute.

Nathaniel...any interviews planned with La Streep?

January 9, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterSoSueMe

Oops...one more thing...anyone notice in the AFI tribute clips how her son is constantly admiring himself when he sees his image on the screen above the stage? Hehe...he is a super-cutie though...and he knows it.

I am bored of talking about young "IT" actressess who have no longevity........ rather stick to a living legend!
