JA from MNPP here, sharing the first look at the goddess named Nicole Kidman playing the goddess named Grace Kelly in Oliver Dahan's film Grace of Monaco, which IMDb lists for release in 2014 but I'd be surprised if it didn't come out next year. (via) It deals with Grace's late-life princess days; Tim Roth is playing Prince Rainier; also hanging around will be Paz Vega, Frank Langella, and Parker Posey (YES). Nicole looks fab, no?

Was I tricked? I hadn't seen the photo-shoot. Sorry if so. She still looks lovely though. And that hair is pretty Grace-like if you ask me.

Saw Nickers at NYFF tribute last night. She looked stunning and was so articulate about her career choices, so smart and warm during Q&A. And was very, very funny about Von Trier and more. Big take away was that she really likes working with "difficult people" and laughed that she has no idea what that says about herself. (Paperboy was wackadoo!)

I believe this is from a photoshop for Who magazine, although I may be mistaken. Anyway, her look's very Grace Kelly-esque. I´d rather have her sporting an inspired look in the movie that try to morph her into the original Kelly with a tone of prostetics.
She is just stunning. Wow.

She actually talked about playing Grace briefly at event (how weird it was since she was right in the middle of shooting). Said she doesn't try to mimic from outside but find internal person and see how that comes out. So I wouldn't expect her to try to look just like Kelly exactly in the film.

If you see all her interviews during The Hours promotion you'll see that she tried to find a personal connection with Woolf. Those prostetics were additional, actually, they were a last second director's idea.
Nicole's approach is organic and not cerebral like your false prophet Streep. I'm tired of being nice. I'll keep the profanity to non-existent.

I think her supporting actress campaign could happen...she's getting the only good reviews for Paperboy.
I think she needs to eat something....she looked so much healthier when she was younger...

does not capture grace kelly. nicole's fantastic & better actress than kelly....but they look nothing alike. grace hot heavier later in life - nicole does not have that at all.
@montage.... Was merely stating that Grace weighed more than Nicole Kidman....but if you have an issue with me ... I am fine with that :) and let's face it.... Nicole is stick thin and not all the real people that she plays are...

I believe the timeframe in which Grace of Monaco takes place is the early '60s, when Grace was not that heavy (yet). And have you seen The Others? Kidman was a Grace Kelly ringer in that one.
And yes, this photo is from Who Magazine, an Australian pub.

why would I be jealous of Kidman.. I go to all her movies? Look for something else to nitpick with ... talk to 4rtful... he's lonely!
Jamie, Nicole Kidman is hardly STICK-THIN now, she was in 2003-2006.
Nicole Kidman has played only 3 real life people and they were very slim individuals - Virginia Woolf, Gelhorn and now, Grace Kelly. Her Diane Arbus was an imaginary portrait and even she was tiny. So to say she was not the same size as the people she has played is not true.
Kidman looks great the way she is, she does not look like she needs to be fed a la Angelina Jolie. Look at Kidman's arms, thighs and arse for heaven's sakes. In her younger years, she was hardly a heavy weight, she looks pretty much the same size she was in her 20s and 30s if not heavier, now.
BTW, Screendaily attended a reel show of Kidman has Grace shown by the director of the film some weeks ago and said Kidman was a ringer for Grace Kelly.
She is a botoxed flop.
