Happy Thanksgiving !
Thursday, November 22, 2012 at 9:00PM
I hope your dinner is/was marvelous and the hugs plentiful. Thank you all for reading, donating, sharing, and commenting faithfully over the years!
This cartoon from the latest New Yorker made me lol. Of all the things I'm thankful for, 3-D is not one of them!
3 Things I'm Thankful For Right This Second
- You, the readers. Thanks for being here, reading, commenting, donating, and sharing so faithfully and with so much movie love of your own.
- The Oscars for teaching me to obsess over movies. And then the movies for teaching me to forgive the Oscars and enjoy them for what they are: sometimes maddening but always fascinating time capsules of movie culture and what people loved when.
- In less than ONE DAY MORE I'll be seeing Les Misérables !!!
YOUR TURN!

Man, you're so lucky you get to see Les Mis so soon! One more month for me... Is there an embargo? Would love to hear what you think!
Things I am most thankful for?
1. Holy Motors playing in Seattle this week.
2. The Film Experience! this blog is the most wonderful, most read cinematic adventure I have, and I thank you, Nathaniel, for all your work.
3. Tom Hiddleston. Because, he's super hot.
Brilliant Oscar comment Nathaniel, and I'm completely jealous on Les Mis. Rebecca, I'm so glad you pointed that out! I'm in Seattle too and obviously have another movie I need to hit up this weekend.
I'm thankful for Nathaniel, the movies, the theater, art in general, and the kindness of people (the amount there is, at least).
Happy Thanksgiving from this Londoner to Nathaniel and everyone else celebrating. Not sure if the Brits' lack of Thanksgiving disqualifies me from saying what I'm most thankful for, but i'll slip in some thoughts anyway!
1. Definitely The Film Experience. My favourite blog. Thanks, Nathaniel et al.
2. The Oscars! If giving Best Picture to Crash didn't cool my ardour, probably nothing will!
3. All the love for Skyfall and Bond. It's sometimes hard-going for us Bond fans (usually because there's no one to obsess with) and Skyfall has really brought people together. I don't think it's a perfect film, but I do think it's grandly entertaining. Here's to the next 50 years!
Thank you for all your hard work, Nathaniel!!!!
