Derreck, I agree with you on Perfect Sense. I wasn't expecting such a touching film going in, and one that ended so poignantly.
Another film that far exceeded my low expectations was Another Happy Day. I was all primed to hate it -- movies about "rich person problems" tend to piss me off -- but that ensemble cast really won me over to the point I was able to forgive some of the stilted dialogue. Ellen Barkin and Ellen Burstyn, in particular, really shine as mother and daughter.

I've just seen a Turkish movie called "Zenne Dancer".It is about the diffuculties of being gay or something in Turkey circumstances. It tells a very unlikely trio (three good friends who are totally different from each other and also gay). The story is so tragedic..I couldn't stop crying during the whole movie..It is also insipered by the true story..At the end of the movie it is possible to see the real characters..Omg some scenes are still fresh on my mind..It so sad!! And cinematography and techinal achievements are just amazing.Acting is wonderful. At the Golden Orange Film Festival(the biggest cinema event in Turkey) Zenne Dancer won 5 awards including Best Supporting female and Best Supporting Male.. I didn't expect such a outstanding work from Turkey.. And I want everyone to watch this amazing movie..Watch and see how diffucult to live as a gay in such a conservative country...So i've changed my mind:
