I've seen at least 20 movies thus far this year and the best ending so far is totally the one from Perfect Sense. I couldn't decide whether i was more happy or sad.

Well, now that i think about it, i'll go with sad.

June 8, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterGeorge

In reference to new movies in the cinema, not DVD/netflix.

I've seen TEN movies thus far this year and the best so far is totally SHAME.

June 8, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterfbh

I've seen ten movies thus far this year and the best performance so far is totally Chris Evan's ass in Marvel's The Avengers - with Quvenzhane Wallis in Beasts of the Southern Wild being a close (though, let's be honest, not that close) second.

June 8, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterCinemateo

I've seen a paltry four movies this year and the best human being involved so far is totally and obviously Joss Whedon for making The Avengers tolerable and Cabin in the Woods amazing.

June 8, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterBrady

I've seen 20 movies thus far this year and the best one was a French/Belgian film named "The Giants," directed by Bouli Lanners. I hope it gets a release date soon.

31 >> film >> Rock of Ages.

Yeah, I can't believe I just wrote that either.

June 8, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterCinesnatch

I've seen 28 movies thus far this year and the best two so far is totally awesome "This Must Be The Place" and exceptionally charming "Take this waltz".

June 8, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterBlaise

I've seen 20 2012 movies so far and the best one so far is The Deep Blue Sea with maybe the best performance by Rachel Weisz. Take This Waltz and The Avengers follow Terence Davies' movie.

I've seen 35 movies this year, and the best of the worst is The Devil Inside, so unique in its inability to work as a horror/found-footage film that one can only stare, mouth agape, as it falls further and further into its black hole of incompetence.

If we're referring to new releases, I've seen 14 films thus far this year and the best 3 so far are totally Oslo, August 31st, The Deep Blue Sea and Moonrise Kingdom. My guess is only Oslo has a chance of making the top ten.

June 8, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterBurning Reels

I have seen 15 movies this year (in the theater) and, surprisingly, the best one is Moonrise Kingdom (with Headhunters a close second). So jealous of whoever has seen Oslo August 31! Please send it my way. Gracias!

I've seen a pathetic 8 movies thus far this year and the best one so far is Bullhead, which totally counts as 2012 since it came out in the States in February. (Moonrise Kingdom is in second.)

That said, I'm still hoping that none of these movies wind up in my year-end Top 10; otherwise, it will have been a crappy year.

I've seen ten movies thus far this year (apparently. It feels like more.) and the best so far is totally A Separation, which is really last year, so, the best so far is totally Titanic 3D, which is really a re-release, so... the best costumes so far are the ones worn by Elizabeth Banks in The Hunger Games. (I have not seen any really good movies from this year yet. Stupid life, always getting in the way of my movie watching!)

June 8, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterdenny

I've seen 17 movies so far this year and the only one to bring me to the brink of tears was Into the Abyss. There really is no living filmmaker who can rival Werner Herzog's documentaries.

Derreck, I agree with you on Perfect Sense. I wasn't expecting such a touching film going in, and one that ended so poignantly.

Another film that far exceeded my low expectations was Another Happy Day. I was all primed to hate it -- movies about "rich person problems" tend to piss me off -- but that ensemble cast really won me over to the point I was able to forgive some of the stilted dialogue. Ellen Barkin and Ellen Burstyn, in particular, really shine as mother and daughter.

I've seen 11 movies thus far this year and the best ones so far are totally Moonrise Kingdom and The Cabin in the Woods.

I've seen 8 movies thus far this year and the best so far is totally Titanic 3D. Of new releases, The Hunger Games all the way.

June 8, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJoe

i've seen 15 2012 release movies this year, and head and shoulders above of any of them is jacques audiard's majestic and searing `rust and bone'(which is already out in paris). cabin in the woods is a distant silver, 21 jump st. a distant bronze. everything else was watchable meh. (and that includes prometheus, avengers, and moonrise kingdom)

June 8, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterDaniel

I've seen four movies thus far this year (Chronicle, Wanderlust, The Hunger Games, and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel) and the best one so far is totally Chronicle. It was awesome seeing it in a theatre :)

I've seen 64 movies thus far this year and the worst one so far is totally Cosmopolis. When the movie started there were about 40 people in the cinema. When it ended, only 15 were left. Has Cronenberg lost his noughties mojo?

June 8, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterDieter

I've seen 12 movies thus far this year and the best one so far is totally Nameless Gangster, though I haven't loooved anything yet.

June 8, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterSVG

I've seen 18 movies so far this year and the best moment so far is totally the time where I spent most of the running time trying to take a photo of a mouse running up and down the aisle. Got a refund which made it all right in the end.

The only movie I would pay to see again is "The Avengers"

I've just seen a Turkish movie called "Zenne Dancer".It is about the diffuculties of being gay or something in Turkey circumstances. It tells a very unlikely trio (three good friends who are totally different from each other and also gay). The story is so tragedic..I couldn't stop crying during the whole movie..It is also insipered by the true story..At the end of the movie it is possible to see the real characters..Omg some scenes are still fresh on my mind..It so sad!! And cinematography and techinal achievements are just amazing.Acting is wonderful. At the Golden Orange Film Festival(the biggest cinema event in Turkey) Zenne Dancer won 5 awards including Best Supporting female and Best Supporting Male.. I didn't expect such a outstanding work from Turkey.. And I want everyone to watch this amazing movie..Watch and see how diffucult to live as a gay in such a conservative country...So i've changed my mind:
I've seen 12 movies thus far this year and the best one so far is totally Zenne Dancer..
