That's a Link Breaker, Ladies

24 Frames Broadway star Kelli O'Hara will star in not one but two new fillm drama to stage musical adaptations: Far From Heaven (previously discussed) and... The Bridges of Madison County?

Broadway Blog my friend Tom makes his educated Tony prediction guesses. Are you watching Sunday night?
The New Yorker's this new true story article "The Yankee Comandante" about an American helping Cuban rebels overthrow their president in 1959 is already on its way to being a movie. George Clooney will direct.
Vulture the scariest thing ever seen on television via Twin Peaks. I wholeheartedly agree. I remember actually attempting to move backwards. (Maybe I also whimpered / screamed. Shut up. You had to be there in 1991)

Finally...
I giggled this morning when reading Stranger Than Most's "Jenna tells it like it is" a reminder of one of 30 Rock's most hilarious scenes. I'm linking because tonight I'll be at Town Hall enjoying Jane Krakowski in concert, a birthday gift from my besties. Yay. I loved Jane truly madly and deeply even before 30 Rock finally convinced everyone else that she was a comedy genius. Every drink I consume tonight will be (re)named in her honor: Jenna'sSide, The Krakowski, 'That'sADealBreakerLadies', Sexual Walkabout, CallFromTheVatican, and MuffinTop. Erm... not that I'm going to drink six drinks. No Lost Weekends for me!

Tell me how much you love Jane Krakowski and how much she deserves the Emmy for this season of 30 Rock after the jump. Don't be anything less than effusive, bitches.

Jane Krakowski indeed deserves to win that darn Emmy she should have won over Jane Lynch two years ago. She had a perfect season. I only accept her loss if she loses to Sofia Vergara, otherwise... heads will be rolling.

Is she gonna sing Kidnapped by Danger as well? :)))))

30 Rock was in fine form this season and I think both the show and Jane deserve Emmys this year. "Go back up your mother!" should be on t-shirts and who ever wrote the line "I don't bail, I'm still watching Smash!" owns a window to my soul. Next year's gonna be rough for me when they end their short run, but I'm happy that a show like this defied all odds and managed to get to a 7th season. Well done Ms. Fey and company. Well done indeed.

Krakowski deserved the Emmy every single season! I'm in love with her since Ally...

PS The Rural Juror would be a great name for a drink!

Have you seen End of the Rainbow, Nathaniel? It seems right up your alley.

I have not, but am hoping to see it, Peter and the Starcatcher, and Venus in Fur sometime very soon.

Thanks for the shout-out. Though after reading the Times this morning, I may have to switch my best actress in a play pick back to Arianda. Nate, when was the last time the Oscars had so many close call, anything can happen categories? I count at least 10 truly difficult to predict categories at the Tonys this year.

That "fixed" poster is actually pretty funny. On the subject of flight: Will Zemeckis prove to be as rusty as Alexander Payne was last time or produce, at the very least, a genuinely good movie? Either way, I'm probably a little more interested in Ron Howard's Rush. Mostly because Daniel Bruhl is a REALLY GOOD ACTOR and the best leading man Howard's worked with since...oh...probably Michael Keaton all the way back on The Paper. Also: I would NOT be surprised if they decided to push Rush back into 2012 or hold it until later in 2013 if the buzz suddenly decides to build. Big setpiece moments for the technical guilds, intimate personal uplift drama for the Actors and producers, period setting, a director who they're interested in who hasn't gone on an extended sabbatical from live-action filmmaking and a real-life "A Star is Born" narrative if Daniel Bruhl manages to pull strong critical notices mean Rush is Total Oscar Bait.

Wow. I should have avoided clicking on that Vulture link because I knew what I would see, but thought the passing of time would soften the fear. Yet my skin is crawling. I can’t believe how much that Twin Peaks image still freaks me out.

YES, Jane Krakowski should have won every possible award for playing Jenna by now, but what can you do. And it makes no sense that she didn't even get an Emmy nomination for the second season, when 30 Rock won in almost every other category.

Two other Jenna quotes I constantly think about are "I would have gone to my high school reunion, but the boat I was educated on sank" and "I don't know a lot about business, but he did an Internet and now the computers like him and Wall Street is Google." Also: "rage stroke"

Jane really deserves her Emmy for her outstanding work for the whole series:)

More drinks: Tennis night in American
America kidz got snging
Mickey Rourke! (I wonder what he actually thinks being the butt of the constant
jokes)
Of course, don't forget the Tampa Royal Academy of Dramatic Tricks!!
Love the boat line!

Given that he captured nods for Best Picture and Best Director (among other accolades for the film) and an Oscar for Best Screenplay, Zemeckis would be pretty lucky to be as "rusty" as Alexander Payne.

June 8, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterSuzanne

Suzanne: Just because someone's nominated for an Oscar doesn't mean you can't see the extreme rust likely caused by a long sabbatical.

I'm preparing to have a rage stroke myself if (when?) Krakowski loses her bid for Emmy this year. I've heard some pundits not even nominating her, and it's odd - I mean, conceits exist everywhere in awards' races but people are so quick to indict the Emmy's for following suit with the same show on and on (re 30 ROCK continuously being nominated for series) and so many of them don't even bother to look. This show has a terribly good sixth season and it's been essentially an FYC for how great Jane is.

"If you can't stand the heat, get off of Mickey Rourke's sex grill." Have truer words been spoken?

I still think the 30 Rock episode "Hardball" is Jenna's best episode. From the Maxim photo shoot, to the Hardball interview, every scene she was in was perfect.

I'm sorry to add links to a comment section, but this scene will forever be my favorite of Jenna's.
