Juli's Big October
Friday, May 24, 2013 at 5:33PM
147 days from now Julianne Moore will have not one, not two, but three movies opening in theaters. How exhausted is she going to be 148 days from now!? That's a lot of promo duties and red carpets in the first half of October.

To be honest, I rather watch Far from Heaven again.
This remake of Carrie is evil. The makers will pay the Piper. And their dirty pillows will bring sleepless nights. And not in a good way.
I love Julianne Moore but "Margaret White" is sacred ground on which she should not trod. Too many things, too many things...
Just wondering is there a Julianne Moore Day anywhere on this planet, like NYC's Meryl Streep Day??
Have you started saving up Nat?
What's your thoughts on how she could approach margaret white.
I don't understand the need to remake Carrie and I probably won't bother to see it. The only one of the three that looks interesting is the JGL pic.
Mareko - I agree it's sacred ground, which is why Julianne is one of the few alive who could attempt it. If she brings her Sarah Palin "I miss my baby" mumbling and head shaking to her head-against-the-wall pounding, as it appears in the preview, we're in for a real treat. I expect earth mother fundamentalism uber crazy, and I can't wait, even if the rest of the film sucks.
She's going to be the only good thing about the Carrie remake.
The two films she has out THIS month aren't that great, to be honest. She's perfectly fine in them - even rather great in WHAT MAISIE KNEW - but they feel like such holding pattern films as she waits for Todd Haynes or Paul Thomas Anderson to give her a call.
Can't wait to see her in Cronenberg's next film "Maps to the stars". It's great for her to add such a strong auteur to her résumé.
That Carrie remake is giving me hives. Also giving me hives: Julianne Moore, with that face, being cast in a series of mom roles. Here's to hoping she at least gets the chance to seduce Kit Harrington in that fantasy movie of theirs.
Nothing against Julianne, but really none of these.
@Glenn: I agree Haynes and Anderson should call her again and that it would be better than any of her movies this year, but What Maisie Knew got 88% at Rotten Tomatoes. Not too shabby for a holding pattern film.
Saw What Maisie Knew at a screening on Thursday. One of the best films I've seen in a long time. Julianne was great in it but it's not her movie.
Not interested in seeing the three you mention, although I do love Joe, so will probably catch the last one. Otherwise, I would agree with Peggy, 'cept I might include a rewatch of The Shipping News.
Brookesboy--Agreed!
What kills me it's that I'm not even sure she ended third that year. I don't think they loved it that much. I mean, they totally ignored the costumes and the art direction... and they were incapable of voting for the legendary Elmer Bernstein!
I've heard that we must watch out for Moore's performance in Carrie come oscar season so that has me excited.
I hope these 3 films have a better response than her earlier 3 2013 films, "6 Souls" "The English Teacher" and "What Maisie Knew."
