"Fix it!"

Today I was chatting with a friend I haven't seen in many years who is tangentially aware of my subsequent status as a film blogger of some note. The conversation, which was 100% not about movies, suddenly took an abrupt turn...

(I'm in green)

LOL. If only...

He went on to request the immediate ceasing of all television and film productions involving zombies, vampires, teen zombies, teen vampires, teen anything, aliens, reboots, movies with any numerals. (FWIW this person is a SAG voter.)

Well, first of all, I hope he didn't vote for Bullock and second, he must do something with the annual Best Ensemble Mess.

Right? FIX IT yourself ;)

Yes, please fix it, since the last four GOOD movies I saw in a theater didn't fall into any of those buckets. Except for Much Ado About Nothing, which is more of a reboot, but I think it's ok to remake 400 year old Shakespeare.

Pam -- but is it? people are always remaking those. For me (sometimes) it's the Franchise From Hell. What I wouldn't give to see filmmakers get that obsessed with Tennessee Williams or something. We could use some new takes on his old plays

But if there were no "teen anything" we would have never gotten the marvels of MEAN GIRLS or CLULESS!!!

OMG

N--agree to Tennessee Williams, but I like Shakespeare in any form. FYI---don't miss Cherry Jones in Glass Menagerie. I missed it up here, but pals who saw the production said she was FANTASTIC.
