My favorite movie scene I watched over Christmas break was when a young Truman Capote and the frail cousin Sook watch their kites do a lovely dance in the crisp blue morning sky in "Truman Capote's A Christmas Memory.'

The best movie-themed gift I ever received was 'Criterion's Designs' .

My favorite scene movie scene I watched over Christmas break was when Kirsten Dunst and company performed the dream cheer in the first five minutes of Bring it On -- I'm major, I roar, I swear I'm not a whore!

The best movie themed gift I ever gave was a film noir box set with Double Indemnity and Touch of Evil as particular highlights.

patryk -- now i have to know what Criterion's Designs is?

F -- wouldn't that just be a favorite scene EVER. ohmygod. I wish that could show on the back of eyelids on loops. I still wish Peyton Reed would do a musical. i think he'd be well suited.

Nat, it is a beautiful coffee table book with art from every single Criterion release ever (including all their laserdisc releases). It is far and away the most magnificent gathering of film imagery in my vast collection. It is available at their website but also at Amazon. A must have. You won't be disappointed. See it at www.criterion.com for yourself.

My favorite movie scene I watched over Christmas break was when they open up the backstage elephant doors to show the snow in White Christmas and my mom and I both got misty.

The best movie-themed gift I ever got was the The Judy Garland Show AND The Carol Burnett Show on DVD.

Patryk - I'm very jealous. They sold out of Criterion Designs before I could pick up a copy.

My favorite movie scene I watched over Christmas break was the end of It's a Wonderful Life.

The best movie-themed gift I ever got was a signed Hurrell of Anna May Wong from the original printing.

Anne Marie, have you checked B&N or Amazon and the Criterion website? I don't work for any of them, lol. It is magnificent.

My favorite movie scene I watched over Christmas break was when a cute little boy sang "Red River Valley" to Reese Witherspoon in "Wild." I'm happy I saw the film and, while it's not as perfect as Jean-Marc Vallée's "Dallas Buyers Club," it's still a great vehicle for Reese Witherspoon, who totally owns the movie. If it wasn't time for Julianne Moore to finally win her Oscar, we'd definitely be talking about Reese possibly winning a second statuette. I'd like to see Laura Dern nominated for Best Supporting Actress this year since she was fantastic in both "Wild" and the surprisingly good "The Fault in Our Stars."

My favorite movie scene I watched over the Christmas break was when the three girls in We Are The Best! adapted their (one) song when visiting their neighbouring town.

Most surprisingly popular scene in the theatre: the audience I was in at Big Eyes cheered when the judge announced a paint-off.

Favorite scene: Hugh Grant as the Prime Minister dancing all over 10 Downing Street. Love Actually is a flawed movie but that scene is perfection.

My favorite ever movie-themed gift is my Wizard of Oz play set, which has to be seen to be believed, here it is.
