COMMENT(s) DU JOUR
TWO OPINIONS ON MAPS TO THE STARS
Nathaniel's Julianne Spazzing & Glenn's Cronenberg Finger Wagging

"There is a great movie in Maps of the Stars and that is the one Moore stars in, not the one the screenplay insists in bringing to the front." - Mr Goodbar

"If I had to guess why Cronenberg went with a largely "invisible" or even non-style style, I'd say it has to do with his approach to the narrative, which is kind of a bait and switch, setting us up for a hollywood satire and then giving us a final act that plays more like a myth or a fairy tale." -Roark

Superb cleavage.

First thought was Young Frankenstein. "What Knockers!"

But then that's always my first thought at a great pair of jugs. That and Raquel Welsh in Mother, Jugs and Speed.

(Thank you Mel Brooks)

This is my choice for best shot in Volver.
LOL
The imagery of knife and boobs is so unique...

Penelope's best role!

I have to... give my chest freezer a good clean?

Most likely my favourite Almodóvar. I really need to get my hands on the DVD and watch it again with the audio-commentary by Pe and Pedro, which I've heard is amazing. Also, I was very disappointed when the movie failed to get script and (particularly) foreign pic nominations. If I'm not mistaken the latter category eventually went to The counterfeiters , which was okay but... come oooon!!

Carlos -- Absolutely! not to mention the supporting actresses...

I still got goosebmups every time I see the scene with the title song, even after seeing how it was shot, the lipsynching and all. That's some powerful filmmaking

I think I remember how Almodóvar made jokes about this particular scene, saying it was made to proof Penélope's breasts were real.

I wish I was that necklace....
