Best Shot - Season Finale on Tuesday

Hit Me With Your Best Shot soon steps aside for the utter madness of Fall Festivals and Awards Season. It will return for a sixth season next March. Why not join in on the season finale, THE MATRIX (1999). It's enlightening. Take the red pill.

To play:

1) Watch the movie
2) Choose your "Best Shot" (your definition - beauty in the eye of the beholder)
3) Post it online somewhere by Sept 2nd at 9 pm with a few words about why you chose it. We link up

previously:  Gone With the Wind Pt 1 & Pt 2, Suddenly Last Summer, Under the Skin, Batman

Very cool line-up! Glad you're splitting GWTW even in two parts it will be hard to pick just one shot each. I'm not a big Ingmar Bergman fan but I'm going to try Cries and Whispers.

Love the Susan Hayward qualifier for Suddenly, Last Summer. Nothing will ever beat the tagline for I'll Cry Tomorrow about being filmed on location inside a woman's soul but I remembered a similar one for her Oscar winning turn in I Want to Live! so I checked and it's delightfully lurid.

"Torrid told and true! The story of Barbara Graham-The lost but never lonely sinner who got the roughest deal life ever dealt!"

I never participate by submitting a best shot and my comments, but I love this series. I often watch the selected movie, and I usually guess some of the shots that get chosen by others.
You should do "Snow Falling on Cedars" some time. It's not a great movie, but it sure is gorgeously shot!

Snow Falling on Cedars!!!

Brilliant choice!

OMG you're gonna kill me with the Gone With The Wind rewatch. Such a great movie but seaux long, thank you x a million for splitting it up.

The Matrix is actually an unexpectedly awesome choice for this series, kudos. Helicopter crashing into the glass building FTW. And so stylish too, for its glossy techy late '90s timeframe.

How awesome, then, that my local arthouse cinema (soon to be closed, sadly) is showing C&W this weekend:

Travis - I was so sad to hear the NFSA was closing, simply because Palace Electric was opening in New Acton. They don't show classics there!

Sorry to hijack this for linking purposes, but I didn't know where else to put it. I watched and picked a best shot for all three of the Jamie Travis films, and posted them at my journal, under the title "Break out the Leather Couch".

Looking forward to the other challenges, especially The Matrix!

Glad to have finally participated this season. 3 days off coming up will equal more participation on my part. Thanks Nathaniel.

Nat - I want to say that I love the "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" series. I really will try to participate next season. Could you try to do some horror movie next year?

August 28, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterPabloLenhador
