REBEL HEART!!! So sad that radio does not play artists of a certain age anymore.
I've learned to temper my expectations not for Madonna, but for how Madonna will be received. We already know this is the best music she's made in 10+ years. We already know the radio won't play it. We already know it'll be a #1 hit (and has been already). We already know her next tour will be one of the most successful of all time.
In a way, all these givens about Madonna's career have made my experience of her albums so much more personal. I'm excited to have all of Rebel Heart on my iPhone, and to discuss it with people who feel the same way. The rest is just static.
Depending on how things go, February 6th actually has duel Norbit potential - not just Moore in The Seventh Son, but Eddie Redmayne in Jupiter Ascending!
I'm with Roark about Jupiter Ascending. The promo ads I've seen aren't very enticing. I don't know that it will hurt Redmayne, but........
Firstly, I'm looking forward to Madonna's album. I don't always like her music, and don't own all of her albums, but when she's good, she's phenomenal.
But the main thing that jumped out at me was the Smackdown. I have a list on my computer of all the winners so far, and cannot wait to see what year is next. Good work.
Most excited for the Oscars, Mad Men and last but not least, the return of the SMACKDOWN!!! YAY!!!!
Roark and Henry: Seventh Son was delayed so many times that everyone knew it was awful and having a rusty mediocre director at the helm MIGHT cost Moore the statue a fourth year, though it probably shouldn't. Jupiter Ascending? That COULD be terrible and work as a Norbit for Redmayne, but The Wachowski's were genuinely massively popular for a large enough window (1999-2007, after which Speed Racer...happened) that Redmayne's decision to work with them is a solid enough idea on paper that it shouldn't be a factor to steal his Oscar, if it isn't going to Keaton anyway. If Jupiter Ascending IS good enough, though, it'll tilt the race even more clearly toward Redmayne.
Volvagia: I don't really think Moore or Redmayne will be hurt that much by the films tanking the way Murphy was. Norbit was Murphy's film, his idea etc., so he was to blame. Moore and Redmayne are just working actors. Unless their performances are terrible and cast doubt on their talent, I don't know that either film's success/failure will matter. Obviously the production companies are looking to cash in on their good fortune.
Volvagia, Henry - I'm with you two, I don't think either of these movies actually pose a threat to either actor's awards chances. Just thought it was a somewhat funny coincidence.
I will take heart in knowing that Moore is usually good even when the movie is not. Also, the date I am most excited about is one that you missed -- House of Cards' third season drops in February!
Although the mixed reviews of the film (it got some 3/5, 2.5/5) every piece of news and reviews I have read says Moore is the best thing in it. That she does so good with a not so good script. So I don't think it is going to hurt her chances. Let's face it: "Seventh Son" is not "Lord of the Rings", but it is not "Norbit" either. It is a fantasy film (for teens mainly) who supposedly didn't work so well. I think the other contenders have more subjects to worry about than Moore: We can't forget that Jennifer Aniston is nominated for a Razzie Awards (Horrible Bosses 2), and Felicity Jones stars that horrible "Spider Man 2". Rosamund Pike plays a misogynistic portrait to consider award worthy, and honestly I don't feel much love for "Gone Girl".
MA.D.O.N.N.A. Enough said.
Great content thoughts concept. i really like it. this is really amazing.
thank you for sharing.
