Hey, at least we'll get to see it now in the US since it was never actually released. I remain convinced that it can't possibly be as bad as people say. And this wise article which you absolutely should read if you haven't suggest that maybe it isn't.
Oh my...
This should please some of you. Seems that Ryan Murphy has picked his future Jessica Lange, with an internal promotion on American Horror Story
Kathy Bates is running the Hotel. #AHSSeason5

This will be the one season that doesn't unravel as it goes along!

WOW. Jason Momoa has now surpassed Kellan Lutz for the best rack in Hollywood. GUH.
Jase: Word!
Jason Momoa is so gross
I always get so confused reading these link posts because my eyes gravitate toward the buried split image first and then I struggle to find those links. Grrr.
"Hey, at least we'll get to see it now in the US since it was never actually released."
Speak for yourself. My Kidmania forced me to import the Blu-ray straight from Canada. I tried watching it one night after work, but I fell asleep. I'll blame that on the job...for now.
I saw Grace of Monaco a while back when I was "in the UK" (that's my story and i'm sticking to it) and it wasn't that bad other than THE BIG SPEECH which was well-acted but just a piece of word vomit. Some shots of her in the film rank high among her best on-screen looks.
But LIFETIME. Oh, honey. From boos at Cannes to a premiere on Lifetime. At least there can be an Emmy nom out of all of this. I'm curious to see the changes they plan on making that adhered more to the original script.
and Drag Race is a MESS this season. Even the editing is off. I don't have a single clue why the budget dropped so heavily considering Logo has *nothing* else going on and last season got such high ratings. There are no real personalities and I feel as if I still don't really know much about these queens. The constant group challenges don't help.
but oddly enough, i'm actually feeling the new Untucked.
Derreck, I agree about untucked. it actually feels "untucked" compared to the show, very real and unedited, not fussy, candid. I enjoy it because it's a nice contrast to the show, which I felt it always should've been. The season is messy though.
haha. that russel crowe pieces is fantastic
First, yay for the shoutout to To Die For. It has gone from being the jewel in Kidman's career to a hardly mentioned curiosity. I love it though.
Second, I think AHS has potential... But only if it stops casting people now and actually gives the actors who are already cast complete story arcs. Ryan Murphy just seems obsessed with getting as many famous people on the show as he can. JUST SAY NO, RYAN.
Bringing up that gid from To Die For is just genius. Kudos to Erik. I didn't see GoM when it was in theatres here in the UK because the bad press put me off it, but will probably be seeing it soon now that it's available on demand.
I don't agree with the Drag Race take-down. Ru is NOT fucking it up.
They've done some shaking up this season, for sure, but a lot of it has forced the queens to serve harder right from the start. The first challenge put every single queen on the runway in her 2 best looks. Give it, hunties! The second one made them all lipsynch (the brilliantly funny Glamazonia Airlines skits). No sliding by! They've shaken up the judging, too, rotating contestants through the critiques even when they're not in the bottom. I think Ru is trying to get the best out of them.
Yes, I miss the sewing challenges, and these are not, it's true, the most memorable queens in the show's history. But the show's production and its sense of humor -- and the surprisingly endearing presence of new judge Ross Matthews -- have made this a fun season to watch.
I saw Grace of Monaco quite recently. It's not awful, it's just bad. I didn't believe a single thing. It's like a carefree commercial.
It's quite the irony that the person who hated La Vie en Rose more than anyone else in the world is the one who is willing to give Grace of Monaco the benefit of the doubt as long as possible. (Just kidding, I know you're holding out hope because of Kidman, not Dahan.)
I saw Grace of Monaco and I was totally bored....felt like walking out of the cinema a few times but I kept hanging in there because I adore Kidman and was hoping the movie would get better (but it didn't obviously).
Us poor Aussies being a few weeks behind drag race, with the trixie spoiler and maybe another, darted my eyes away incase. :(
go. see. gloria.
I find it absolutely cruel what is happening to Nicole Kidman in the public sphere. Also, disappointed the last time she had something satisfying to watch it was under that hack Lee Daniels.
Kathy Bates---a third Emmy, a second Oscar, and multiple nominations and wins elsewhere.
Nicole Kidman is adored. No reason to feel bad for her she just made a bad movie. It happens.
Kidman had good moments in Grace of Monaco, I didn't like a couple of close ups, those were atrocious, the woman knows her shit, pull the camera back! In general I didn't care for the movie, the edition is too fast and I thought it looked like a TV movie, so...
I am loving this season of RPDR because at the end of the day the judges can save even the most mediocre of episodes. Granted this is not my favourite group of queens, but I still love watching them, what they do is NOT easy.
Everyone is complaining about the group / performance challenges but the ratio of those is very similar to last season. I think the problem is there is no 'mother hen' / seasoned queen figure in the group like Chad Michaels or Latrice or Bianca to keep the youngers queens in check. My guess is that this problem will persist as the more 'young' queens emerge, ones that started drag because of Drag Race and don't have the references, history etc because they don't need to have it, everyone loves them at the club!
. Plus I heard an interview with Jonny McGovern and he said that the network is pushing Ru to keep the younger ones on for ratings, if that's the case then it's a shame, because you need that balance on the show. Would Trinity K Bonet or Adore have done so well last year had they not had Bianca's guiding hand in the workroom? I doubt it.
Wow, I have a lot of thoughts about this !
Rami -- well, Ru has no one but himself to blame for the ignorance of young queens. He coulda done a lot to educate people (while still entertaining them) on this series simply by having other legendary queens on the show as occaional guest judges. I guess he didn't want to share the spotlight but it's so short sighted/narcissistic.
depressing that young queens probably don't know about absolutely genius queens like Lypsinka & Jackie Beat & Charles Busch & Joey Arias... there are so many people who would have made fabulous guest judges over the years.
Yes agreed, I don't think a lot of people got that the airlines spoken word / lipsync challenge this season was very Lypsinka which is a shame, it should have been mentioned on the show at least.
I think the biggest problem with this RPDR cast is that they seem so entitled. And are not living up to their potential at all.
