Alexander/Alexandra
From the "We Nearly Forgot To Mention It And What Is Wrong With Us" Folder:
Alexander Skarsgård, currently untethered to a particular role/screen persona post-True Blood, came to the premiere of The Diary of a Teenage Girl (opening tomorrow) in drag. For reasons we know not...
But he did it in 1970s style as befitting the period drama. Since he's already 6'4" how tall was he in heels? We didn't think we could love him any more than we already did. (Our secret hope is that he can sing and dance, too, and he's sending an unsubtle message that he'd like to be Hedwig on Broadway post-Taye Diggs)
Skarsgård is very good in the movie, too, as a man who starts sleeping with his girlfriend's (Kristen Wiig) curious 15 year old daughter (played by Bel Powley). Here's Michael's Review from Sundance. I can't say that I loved it quite as much as everyone else did at Sundance but it's definitely worth seeing... the actors are all quite riveting and it's a bravely sexual movie with surprising visual panache, breaking out into animation at some points.
Next up for the sexy Swedish star is a horror thriller called Hidden with Andrea Riseborough (pictured left on the set) and the title role in the latest attempt at reviving a super ancient franchise called Tarzan. Perhaps you've heard of it? 'He Tarzan, Margot Robbie is Jane.' That jungle swinging adventure will open for the 4th of July holiday in 2016 testing his box office mettle because he hasn't really been asked to carry mainstream features up till now -- I still wonder what his Thor would have been, since he's an actual Norse God, and he was in the running for that Marvel franchise till the Hemsworth end.
He's also in the ensemble of the New Mexico set dirty cops comedy War on Everyone by John Michael McDonaugh (of Calvary fame) which also features Theo James, Michael Peña, Caleb Landry Jones and Miss Bala herself Stephanie Sigman.

The Hedwig connection was the first thing that came to my mind.
And with no disrespect to any of the previous Hedwigs, he would the prettiest Hedwig by a mile.
I was like... who is that? I thought it was Patrick Swayze back from the dead. Then I realized it is Alexander Skarsgard. Wow...
Straight on, he kinda looks like The Face.
It's all about those Swedish cheekbones.
I really like Skarsgard but I think Hemsworth is perfect as Thor.Though I hope he finds his own blockbuster franchise.
John -- OMG. you're right. Now I'm a little scared.
He got a REAL queen to beat that mug.
Now I wanna hear him belting out "Le Jazz Hot."
