Who "won" the Globes last night? Jacob Tremblay did, that's who.

That was not a trophy statistics question but a figurative one.

Proposal: T'was actually tiny Jacob Tremblay from Room who won the Golden Globes hands down. He was not nominated (though he is at the forthcoming SAG Awards) but he had his name praised from the stage via golden girl Brie Larson. She claimed that the award and her performance were half his as she took Best Actress, Drama. He stood up to watch her with his internet-fancied dad right beside him. Later, met his favorite Star Wars character "Poe" at an after-party (photo via A24)

So basically, Jacob Tremblay won the night.

Well, and Oscar Isaac too. But Oscar Isaac had basically already won the season... the world... at life.

Ya know, I just watched A Most Violent Year again over the weekend. A24 did a big disservice to that film for their lack of marketing/promotion. Both Oscar and Jessica gave really amazing performances.

But they do get some props for sending that photo out! Adorable.

You're missing the incredibly cute photo he posted (on Instagram?) of the "favorite actors" he met that night -- not only Oscar, but Michael B Jordan and Chris Evans. Absolutely adorable.

This pic is exactly why I love awards shows.

I think Gervais sniping streak has worn out now, would it kill him to be gracious about such a great shocase,he comes over as plain mean.

Team Brie Larson! Never liked the triple of Portman, Streep, and Lawrence. Blanchett, Moore, and Larson are my speed. Especially when you consider we could've had Bening, Davis, and Chastain! But I'll accept what I can get from this category when they actually Do The Right Thing.

Not to mention he fought bravely against Darth Giuliana Rancic.

Mary: agreed. The expiration date on Gervais's Ooh Did I Say That? shtick has long since passed. He totally needs to hang it up, it's not funny or edgy, it's just grating.

You have to wonder, in such an AMAZING film year and with such rich, bonkers, unpredictable possibilities, does it even matter when the HFPA (wins) and SAG (nominations) are this terrible? Not to mention BAFTA.

These precursors are taking a beautiful thing and making it look SO ugly.

When Jacob professed that Oscar Isaac was his favorite Star Wars actor on the red carpet, I knew he was a winner. That photo is the best.

Speaking of hot escorts, who was that hot piece sitting next to Lily Tomlin? Bald and scruffy, he had an amazing face.

When are you posting your prediction updates dear? It's been a month and you still have Lily Tomlin as a contender for Best Actress. The whole psychic circle is interested in why you've been so late this year. Perhaps you've been schmoozing with Jane Fonda too much (laughs from audience). But we love you dear, it's your blog.

Gail - LOL. simple truth is i am terrible at time management --try to cover everything and end up covering not half of anything... and then it's suddenly oscar nom week! (sigh). i need a paid staff so desperately.

DjDeeDay -- i wish i had time to look back at it.

Hayden -- i probably should have written an article predicting this. Truth is in most of the best years for cinema awards season is the worst. It's as if too many gorgeous perfect options for "best" cancel each other out and the interchangeable mediocre stuff that looks glossy and prestigious enough rises instead. It's like too many good options paralyze them.

Love that shot- bet you that kid is more thrilled from meeting his Star Wars hero than from any silly award

in such an AMAZING film year

Wrong! This year sucks. Thank God there will be many rewarding prospects for 2016, including a new Paul Verhoeven movie starring Isabelle Huppert.

Does this mean Jacob will be in the next Star Wars film?

January 11, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterSteven

I still say Jacob Tremblay should be up for Best Actor at the Oscars. What a wonderful category it would be if both Tremblay and Abraham Attah were nominated.

"Does this mean Jacob will be in the next Star Wars film?" // I actually heard vague talk not too long ago that they may actually write a small role for him in a future installment.

JFC Isaac cannot get more adorable and likable
