What's Next for Marvel?

"I long for it to end." - Arkaan

"I really hope that this is when Marvel actually experiments with the form or takes more artistic risks. I doubt that they will because more likely than not, they will stick to tried and true with untested characters, but it's still nice to hope." - Starlit

Parker Posey Priorities

Parker Posey as Miami in the college comedy Kicking & Screaming (1995). She's got her priorities in order.

Guy: Do i have to start paying back student loans tomorrow?
Miami: I'm gonna go look for pot.

Miami: There's an 80s party at the dorms!
Boyfriend: You have work to do, sweetie, you shouldn't be out so late.
Miami: I'm going.

Miami: Can we just admit some lies that we may have told each other?

I'm just gonna write it down.

[Moments later...]

You know I can't stand you. I can't stand [waving arm up and down at the whole of him]... that. You know, your shoes, your pants, that shirt your wearing, your hair. Your hair drives me crazy.

I have homework to do. Get out!

Bushwick -- A QUESTION OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE!

That is such a great scene. I had a total crush on Parker Posey in the mid to late 1990s. She's still an awesome actress.

What would you call that expression in the third picture? Exasperated? Because that is quintessential Posey right there.

Parker Posey got me through my college and grad school years. I owe her a lot of money.

Oh, I saw Kicking & Screaming quite recently on SundanceTV. I was dozing and drooling until she appeared. She's a movie lifesaver.

I love that "Guy" and "Boyfriend" don't even get real names, but Miami does! She totally owns these men—and the movie.

How about a look back at The House of Yes? That movie is a mindfuck.

That movie is amazing. I love it so much. And I appreciate that Baumbach has stuck with that kind of thing, even in his work with Wes Anderson, because even decades later (with Mistress America and the Meyerowitz stories) well he's remains so good at it.

That "lies we may have told one another" scene with Miami and Skippy - it's both completely relatable and hilarious. She's great in it (and most everything else).

She was so much fun playing herself as Gale Weathers as Courtney Cox (Arquette) as "Jennifer Jolie" (I never noticed that before!) in Scream 3
