Amy Adams Channels Warhol's Portraits
Just when we thought the sting of Amy Adams missing an Oscar nomination last year for Arrivalhad gone away, the actress give us another immersive performance, this time in photo form...
For Garage Magazine, Adams recreates the polaroid portraits of Andy Warhol to jawdropping effect. Dare we say it bums us out we never got to see her Janis Joplin in one of those many announced projects. Consider this a primer before Amy Adams is back on our lips again when she headlines HBO's Gillian Flynn limited series Sharp Objects. Check out Adams recreating the looks of Dolly Parton, Liza Minnelli, Debbie Harry, and Warhol himself.
I'm getting such "Heartbreaker" album vibes. Wouldn't you just kill to see Adams' "Baby I'm Burnin'"?
Which starlet pictured would you prefer to see nab Adams her ellusive Oscar?

MISS DEBBIE, HENNY. Also, NGL, she's kinda giving me Taylor Swift vibes in the Debbie pic...and I'm not mad at it.
Ms. Adams has converted me to a fan this year. Love her.
I like the Warhol ones.
The weather here has been so miserable that some evenings I've just given up and watched mindless tv. I saw an Amy Adams double feature, The Trouble With The Curve, and Leap Year.
The Trouble With The Curve was better than I remembered. Amy is so lovely and smart and active. It also helped that I mentally replaced the awful Justin Timberlake with Lee Pace in his scenes. Timberlake is a boy and an amateur actor while Amy and Clint are adults and professionals.
Leap Year I remembered as wretched, a dreg of a rom-com. It wasn't as bad as I remembered. Amy is so fresh and sincere that the rest of it fades into the background.
GIVE ๐ HER ๐ AN ๐ OSCAR๐
I would like to see her as David Bowie. Shit, there's so many people that I can think of that could play variations of David Bowie for a film. One person playing Bowie isn't enough.
Amy is starting her Oscar and Emmy campaigns early!
Canโt wait for what she has to bring us in 2018! The more Amy the better!
Too bad I don't see hee acting i a David O. Russell film again. He's got her best performances
It's good she's part of the conversation again.
So who are the actresses that are missing an Oscar after several unsuccessfull attempts, at least in my opinion?
Glenn Close
Amy Adams
Annette Bening
Jessica Chastain
Saoirse Ronan
And the four queens of supporting actresses.
Catherine Keener
Patricia Clark
Laura Linney
Joan Allen
I'm ready for a Thelma and Louise remake starring Amy and Gaga. ITA about the Tswift vibe--I'm digging it much.
Chris - As frustrating as the "Arrival" miss was, do you believe (as I do) that her not receiving a nomination for "Enchanted" was even more egregious? It goes to the issue, often discussed on this blog, that comedy in general, and musical comedy in particular, are a much more difficult form of the art than dramatic portrayals. As I have said on this blog in the past, any Oscar Amy Adams receives from here on in, even an undeserved one, would be a much-deserved "make-up call" for my admittedly beloved redhead.
Oh, yes...Dolly Parton. I do love my cleavage.
I'm excited to see her play Lynne Cheney this year, and I think it may be her year. She looks great in costume, the Academy loves watching actors play real people and they like Adam McKay, and she is obviously due. Plus she has Sharp Objects coming on tv as well.
I too think AA is heading for Nicole status this year.
Totally agree that she was Robbed of a Nomination for Enchanted....!!
Amy Adams missing the WIN last year stings, Amy Adams missing a nomination is just plain unforgiveable. #justiceforamy
I think this is her year! Emmy in September, two Globes and two SAGs in January, and an Oscar in February is my forecast.
I love Amy Adams - even more now after this post - and I wish her many more nominations and her eventual oscar win but I hardly see it happening next year with Glenn Close's The Wife.
Jorge - I see her winning Supporting Actress for Backseat, not BA.
Not a fan of Amy Adams. the only performance I really like of hers is as the princess. She was outstanding in that movie.
Other caliber females with several noms:
Sigourney Weaver
Michelle Pfeiffer
Michelle Williams
Saoirse Ronan is getting one within a few year. me think
The Arrival miss was the best thing that happened to her as the narrative on her going from perennial nominee to "snubbed" conversation.
