Finally. The Carrie Fisher/Debbie Reynolds-documentary and this starting the same day. i'm in digital heaven
Cannot Wait. Will you be discussing her many Oscar snubs.
AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
Mark -- we'll have plenty of time to discuss all sorts of things. It's EVERY saturday. (I needed a project that would make me feel joyful this year and I miss her so much so it seemed like the right time. )
That bathtub gif *slays* me! I love you Nathaniel...And of course, Michelle Pfeiffer XD
Thank you pfor this! I'm super excited pfor it, too.
Those gifs are life.
Can't wait for this.
Love her bitchiness in Wolf, can't wait.
I'm as excited about this as I am for her return to the big (and small) screen this year. I can't wait!
I don't know what the top left gif is from, but I keep imagining she's going to devour him, like a human shaped praying mantis.
I'm hoping for a piece on her Grease 2 turn, a tragically terrible film that she somehow emerges unscathered from in spite of very poor safety practices on a ladder whilst pining for her 'cool rider'.
Love her! Coincidentally, I just bought the Grease 2 vinyl over the new year merely because of her. Yes the movie sucks but she was FABULOUS in my opinion.
Michelle was legit af in What Lies Beneath. She KILLED it..
No..... MEOW....? She owned that film.
Pfabulous!! This is exciting!
BTJ & Jans... I LOVE her in Grease 2. Yeah the movie sucks, but she transcends, she is so damn cool in that film, and so gorgeous.
Yay love this. Loved Michelle since I was 11 and have never stopped. Forever my #1 Screen Queen. Only works I haven't seen are Solitary Man and Splendor. Can't seem to find them, help!
Thank you for providing a schedule for those Pfandom updates. I'm a huge Pfeiffer fan, and I was concerned that this feature had come to a premature end when we didn't receive an update last week. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to reading your thoughts now that we'll be getting into some of her more substantial big-screen roles.
I couldn't love this any pfarther, pfurther, pfantastically!
A pfan
BJT, top left is Ladyhawke, a modern classic. Great screenplay, great actors - Broderick, Hauer and Pfeiffer - and a terrible score.
Here for Ladyhawke <3 <3 <3
White Oleander is abridged on YouTube. Sometimes I sit down to watch all the Michelle Pfeiffer parts and skip through the other scenes. It's delicious in order, out of order, etc. The individual scenes and line readings are so searing and unforgettable.
There's really nothing like it. She is just a master of screen acting.
I'm so happy this is returning, I loved reading those write-ups!
Pforever a pfan of Pfeiffer. Thank you for brining this back.
Hayden.
People laugh at me all the time when I say that White Oleander is one of my fav films. I think people assume it’s just a Lifetime type melodrama. It’s heartbreaking how good Pfeiffer is here and also Zellweger and Wright Penn kill it!
Pfinally! Pfandom is back!!! Can't wait for the series to begin again.
Thank you, Nathaniel.
Yay!!
That Oscar snub for White Oleander will pforever sting. Should have been an easy nom and maybe win. F*ck you, Warner Bros for dropping the ball.
I put this on another thread, but it actually isn't out of place here. The death of Louise Latham was just announced (although she died on Feb 12), Michelle Pfeiffer's mother in Love Field, but most famously Tippi Hedren's mother in Marnie. She was a whole 8 years older!
Correction. Louise Latham played Michelle's boss's mom. It always helps to google my faulty memories.
This makes my heart happy!
-I remember Michelle being adamant on Inside the Actors Studio that she tried to avoid typical "girlfriend" roles where women were just a setpiece. She said Scarface was different because Elvira is a set piece, but she is also saying something about those women.
I had never heard of Into the Night until Actors on Actors when Sarah Jessica Parker went on and on about it.
SJP: Don't people who are really into cinema, like movie buffs, come up to you and talk to you about that movie?
Michelle (very confused): ...No.
Such a brilliant actor. Pfeiffer mesmerizes and elevates each film in which she appears in.
I've been a fan ever since I saw her performance in The Witches of Eastwick, in which she went toe-to-toe with acting heavyweights and more than held her own. And then I had to visit her earlier work, such as Scarface ....
So pleased she is returning full-time to film -- and looking forward to more great performances from this most special of actors.
It would be fun, sometime, to rank and discuss our favorite Pfeiffer performances. Nathaniel?
