You mean a new production of WSS on Broadway, directed by European modernist Ivo Van Hove? Yeah. That's happening. The mind whirls.

A Steven Spielberg ‘new’ WSS is nothing to be considered great.
I love Tony, and I love Richard Beymer in the role. So under-rated.
And that score! Those lyrics! That dancing! Sigh....so beautiful.
Spielberg should spent his time and clout to bring an original movie musical to the scree - not to remake a classic film

A perfect movie that should not be re-made
still mad/sad that Speilberg cut the lesbian-ish relationship between Whoopi's and Margaret Avery's characters in The Color Purple. It was important in Celie's development to love herself. Wish Spielberg could be stopped from doing the WSS remake. But he's powerful and so what can we do but hope for something decent?
