Actually, the white voice thing distracted me for the whole movie. Aside from being annoying (I'm not buying that people are more willing to listen if David Cross is talking to them), it defeats the purpose. Isn't the point of that joke that some people intentionally adjust their voice to fit the likings of who they're talking to? If you have someone else doing the voice for them, then the joke has lost its meaning.
Nathaniel, was there something wrong with your mic with this taping? Murtada sounds like he is on mic as he is much louder than you. You sound like you're much farther away from the microphone. Just wondering...

No, the point is that black people (and other minorities) are pressured into adopting traditionally white mannerisms in order to be socially and professionally accepted. That the voice is really not his hammers this point home, and the exaggeratedly nasally David Cross fits right in with the film's absurdism.
