Linkin' what comes naturally
• MNPP Corey Stoll has joined the cast of Spielberg's West Side Story remake as Office Krupke and a bunch of other new movies too. Yay.
• Polygon all the things Disney owns now with the Fox deal completed. Cultural hegemony be frightening, people! (So over the past 20 years or so Disney, 20th Century Fox, Lucasfilm, Pixar, ABC, and Marvel have become one company essentially)
• Variety ...has an analysis of what this new Media Giant movement might mean for the future
More after the jump including Fiddler on the Roof, Missing Link, a reaction to all the memes about Bohemian Rhapsody's terrible Oscar-winning editing and famous movie characters you didn't know were on the down low. Lol...
• Washington Post Not sure how we missed this but they asked John Ottman about that viral take down of the awful editing of Bohemian Rhapsody that he won an Oscar for. Yes, he's embarassed about that scene
• Coming Soon Keanu and Alex Winters are returning to their Bill & Ted characters for a third film
• Cartoon Brew Tom & Jerry hybrid live action/animated movie set for 2021
• Variety Elizabeth Debicki has joined the cast of Christopher Nolan's next film. We just hope she isn't playing someone's dead wife or token girlfriend because his movies almost never have good female roles
• Playbill Fiddler on the Roof is getting a tw heatrical documentary about its creation and legacy due this summer. It's called Fiddler: Miracle of Miracles
• Coming Soon remember that Rooney Mara bible picture? Well, Mary Magdalene finally coming to US theaters two years later
• Advocate This is cute. Arnold Schwarzenegger shared a photo with a body builder and his new husband at the Pro Strongman sports festival
• Variety reminds us there's a new Laika picture coming out (yay) and our heads are spinning trying to understand this article about the complicated animation on Missing Link's title character
• Crooked Marquee "10 movie characters you didn't know were gay" is really quite funny (if you have a sense of humor about LGBTQ community that is). Loved this one...
But it seems like a missed opportunity to not even mention that his name was "Bruce"

I saw that video of that horrible scene in Bohemian Rhapsody. Holy shit, that was bad. It baffles me that the film won Best Editing which is embarrassing. Yet, I wanna be fair to John Ottman as I think he's a good editor but considering the chaos that went on in the production. I tend to put the blame more on Bryan Singer for all of the trouble that happened and 20th Century Fox for just fucking things up. I never want to watch that clip again although I think anyone who wants to be a filmmaker should watch that clip on what not to do.
Definitely heard that the reason Bohemian Rhapsody did so well during awards season (other than everyone loving Queen music) was that the industry was also impressed at how everyone in the cast/crew survived the turmoil of Singer and troubled production. It's basically Leonardo DiCaprio's Revenant Oscar campaign but like for the entire movie. It worked I guess.
Bill & Ted! I enjoyed these movies when I was much younger so I'll be intrigued to see what this new film would be. Those previous films feel like such a time capsule more than anything.
Just adding a link that might make you laugh. Laura Benanti and Christine Baranski both do impressions of Melania Trump for Colbert. They both put those Tony winning skills to good use.
You will never look at a Tony award the same way again.

Corey Stoll has actually been cast as Lieutenant Schrank, whereas Brian d’Arcy James has been cast as Krupke.
"Actual friend of Dorothy" BWAHAHAHA!
Gahtdamb, Corey Stoll is one sexy fucker.
So scanning quickly I read "Tom & Jerry hybrid live action/animated movie set as Christopher Nolan's next film."
Now this is a movie I want to see!
Could you imagine if Disney owned YouTube!?
"10 movie characters you didn't know were gay"
The shark in JAWS.
Can someone please explain why the name "Bruce" is associated with being GAY?
I have seen and heard this reference many times over the years, from many sources. It is an unusual phenomenon. Even as a young child it was referenced to me as being a gay name.
Needless to say "My Name is BRUCE" and I am gay. Seriously. Strange but true...
