Box Office: Hobbs & Shaw
What did you see? We took a beach weekend in Fire Island so the movies weren't viewed though they were still very much on our mind. Particular due to a showtunes night at the Pavilion where ample clips from Chicago , Burlesque, Dreamgirls and more were shown. FYI: Catherine Zeta Jones' Velma Kelly is still magic.

The Farewell continues to be a significant word of mouth hit (yay!) In limited release just outside of these charts, the Ophir nominee (and potential Oscar submission) Tel Aviv on Fire opened at 11 theaters and earned 47k while Jennifer Kent's brutal flick The Nightingale earned $40k at 2 theaters.

$4,277,031 is the gross total for The Last Black Man in San Francisco.
The Farewell: Lovely to see Awkwafina in a lead role.
Kiki’s Delivery Service: Apparently the 30th anniversary. I had never seen it before. A packed and enthusiastic audience. Interesting how someone’s distinctive artistic imagination flutters in the back of your mind.
Hobbs and Shaw: I’ve never seen any of the Fast and Furious series. I’ve always liked Jason Statham, I like Dwayne Johnson, and am already a fan of Vanessa Kirby. Statham, Kirby, and Helen Mirren as a family - what bliss. Also fun is Johnson’s Samoan family with Cliff Curtis.
But the film seemed really long, especially when there wasn’t much of a story.
I'm hoping there would be new predictions.
Only some Scottish dude on Twitter who makes up mash-up videos of old musicals w pop songs. The one of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers with Run DMC is great.
The Farewell is wonderful as promised! Shuzhen Zhao steals the show (along with Ellen the dog).
Naomi Watts is doing some of the best work of her career as Gretchen Carlson on the Loudest Voice.
Saw HOBBS & SHAW because what's a better movie to see in the dead of summer but one that features ridiculous car chases and a bunch of hot daddies?
the souvenir.
didn't liked at all. i am sorry filmtwitter
Wasn't able to get out to a movie but I stumbled upon what must be the single worst movie made in recent memory. CHiPS</I>. How did such a bad movie get made?
@Pam: It's a guy on Twitter named Lewis Wake. I'm fondest of the Singin' in the Rain and Hairspray clips.

Kind of surprised it hasn't been part of the last two link compilation posts on this site.
I saw Tarantino " Once Upon A Time in...Hollywood" which is a real movie movie. Tarantino likes DeCaprio but he loves Pitt . He also loves pretty girls with dirty feet. I liked it so much I can't wait to see it again.
Nat, have you seen any of the InStyle 25th Anniversary content? It's Gwyneth, Cameron, Drew, Reese, Halle, Demi, Meg, Julianne, Aniston, Salma...with Michelle hovering over them all like a legend...plus Garner, Alba, Keri Washington and Kate Hudson bringing up the rear.
It's delicious. We have actresses today but where are the stars!
