Oh dear. A CRY IN THR DARK is up on HBOMAX. I fear a lot of Streep lovers have never seen it and I firmly believe it is her best work.

Apparently there was a poster for PARALLEL MOTHERS (Madres paralelas) over a decade ago in a scene of Almodóvar’s BROKEN EMBRACES.

So here for Almodóvar Easter eggs. pic.twitter.com/k0qqxCkmyE

i like how PASSING is a movie about the erotic tension of being attracted to someone you find fundamentally obnoxious

I found it, Anthony Hopkins’s best performance, it’s “Shadowlands” (1993).

In the admittedly brief history of women directing their husbands onscreen, it’s hard to imagine anyone better nailing her spouse’s Whole Thing than Peter Sarsgaard’s role in THE LOST DAUGHTER

I love all the cosplay at NY's just returned Comic Con, but I'd also like an Isabelle Huppert Con, in which everyone shares the same enigmatic, unchanging, sensual facial expression

Hi, most annoying person you’ve ever encountered here! I noticed this post you wrote in 3 seconds doesn’t line up with every experience I’ve ever had. This is extremely harmful to me, the main character of the universe,

All those single people going to Mass! Love it.
Reminds me of when I went to see Von Trier's Antichrist at the arthouse cinema in Bristol. Only individual tickets and exclusively men aged between 30 and 50. Very odd.
Hey Nathaniel?! How are you?!
When are having more posts about Parallel Mothers!?! Just saw it this weekend and woow! What a masterpiece from Pedro, only him can make a film with so many thrills and yet provide with such a positive tone and message throughout all 2 hours …and Penelope Cruz is definetely doing a career best!! Hopefully they can pull Aitana Sanchez-Gijon for a best supporting actress nod, so remarkable on such a small role!
I see this one showing up on multiple categories on oscar nomination morning!
How do you feel about it? Did you like it?
honduran -- it doesn't come out in the US until Christmas but we've already had two reviews so there will probably be a lull until December.
it seems that most people are interpreting ALW's comments to mean that the current sunset blvd movie is dead. i read his words as "no success right now but glenn is trying." thoughts?
@CharlesO
I agree with you, but the prevailing interpretation of ALW's words is probably catnip to anyone at Paramount who wants this project to go away.
Hopkins is great in Shadowlands, but he's one of the rare actors who won deserved Oscars for his two best performances.
I'll be one of those single people going to Mass when it comes to my town on Friday. It sounds like a depressing concept, so it's hard to sell other people on it.
