Some Fun Tweet Reactions to the Globes and the SAG Nods
Because we are very tired and want to take a half hour nap before getting back to work... Please to enjoy...
Wawaweewah! I'm shocked and humbled to be nominated for 3 Golden Globes, and congratulations to the incredible @MariaBakalova96 too!

We're so honoured--and just in case we don't win any, I've already hired Rudy Giuliani to contest the results. pic.twitter.com/CSligPsmI8

You know what's going to be awkward? This year's Golden Globe Ambassadors are Jackson Lee and Satchel Lee, the son and daughter of Spike Lee, whose movie DA 5 BLOODS has thus far been completely snubbed — no pic, no director, no Delroy, no Chadwick, etc.

James Corden's Golden Globe nomination for The Prom is a hate crime.

Glenn Close haters are loud but Glenn Close's Golden Globe nomination is louder pic.twitter.com/guB4epIuyJ

Glenn Close gives off the kind of “no fucks given” energy that can only come from someone who has stolen a role from Patti LuPone and lived to tell the tale

I think Glenn Close is very good in Hillbilly Elegy, think her movie's kinda rank, but I just got struck with a very powerful wave of "Better this than Albert Nobbs"

“We’ll call these omissions ‘snubs,’ though they’re probably not personal... unless some star declined to pose for pictures with each and every HFPA member, as is the custom with this group. Then, well, it’s still not a snub. It’s revenge.”

Jeremy Strong's accent in The Trial of the Chicago 7 is a stunt #sagawards

I never thought I’d say these words, but Critics Choice Awards, we need you to come in and clean up some of these messes.

If #sagawards wants to nominate someone other than Jared Leto for not washing their hair in 2020, I'm right here. I feel like I deserve it more.

Nicole Kidman was great in the Undoing - it was the show that was rubbish - not her or her coats!
Cβmon - Billy Bathgate is right there π
Batman Forever, actually.
She was nominated for Billy Bathgate though π
Her Kids Choice, MTV and Blockbuster* nominations for her Batman performance are the equivalent of a Globe nomination. (No excuse for SAG nominating her for The Undoing, though.)
*won
Nicole Kidman was a literal helicopter parent in The Undoing
Poor Ben E. Great tweet but you had to use it as a subtweet to an underwhelming Murtz response?
Will Glenn Close ever be great in an actually great movie again? It's like the Oscar so wants to be handed to her but just can't go through with it every time.
Glenn Close step your pussy up!
God Our Lord has allowed Covid-19 in our lives but will not allow Sasha Baron Cohen at the Oscars! That I believe!
just consider this... how tempted would be BAFTA, SAG, Oscar and Golden Globe to have pictures of both Sacha and Maria posing with their trophies together.
the biggest travesty of this season is why "Husavik" isn't winning Song anywhere. Watch the film. Hear the lyrics. The song is being built all through the film, to deliver an emotional climax when it's played and that summarizes everything before it is sang, and delivers also emotional relief for most - if maybe not every - characters of the film. It's not only and amazing song on its own, it is exactly what Oscars define they want to reward as Original Song.
Plus, the songwritting effort for this film - recreating in a believable but funny way the biggest song contest in the world - is another one for the ages, a challenge that was completely successful in Songwritting, Costume Design, Hairstyle and Production Design. Regardless of what anyone would feel about the film, it's a complete success on those aspects and totally deserving of nominations and awards.
Wait, who's the person who declined to mingle w the HFPA and was snubbed?
Sacha Baron Cohen has already been nominated for an Oscar, for writing Borat.
I still believe that they might give the Oscars for Glenn and Amy.
@Jesus Alonso - agreed that Husavik is a great, emotional song that actually serves the plot of the movie and isn't played over the credits like most songs nominated for awards. It's a shame it's been shut out so far.
Jules, I know. And he'll certainly be nominated again for the writing. Or not. Who knows? I don't care... I am talking about the SUPPORTING ACTOR category. I hope not. Not with so many great actors waiting for a spot this year. There is a God to prevent this from happening. AMPAS didn't nominate him in the acting category when he won the Golden Globe as comedy/musical actor for the first Borat, I remember that.
Giovanni, your obsession with Sacha Baron Cohen is not healthy for you.
