Emmys Voting Closed - Coverage Plans For The Season
By: Christopher James
Emmys voting closed yesterday, but it will be a while before we know who our winners are.
Currently, the Primetime Emmys are scheduled for Monday, January 15th on FOX. The Creative Arts Emmys will take place the weekend before on Saturday, January 6th and Sunday, January 7th, with an edited version of the ceremony airing on FXX on Saturday, January 13th on FOX. The reason for the push is the ongoing WGA and SAG strikes, which The Film Experience stands with the striking members.
Since voting has closed, there’s nothing more that nominees or studios can do to curry votes or campaign. We’re in a holding period. That doesn’t mean the coverage will stop, but it does mean we can space it out more before we head into Oscar madness.
Expect weekly category analyses across the comedy, drama and limited series/TV movie fields each Tuesday, as well as ad hoc Creative Arts category deep dives.

Yep. Voting done. Results in a vault. That means now I can talk smack.
Perhaps a look at those actors who are nominated for a fifth Primetime Emmy with no previous wins would be interesting - Judith Light, Oliver Platt, Niecy Nash-Betts, Natasha Lyonne, and Angela Bassett.
Damn, January! That's wild. 🤯
@Finbar McBride: I love that idea! What a crew of fantastic, diverse nominees. Couldn't be more different. Funny that Natasha Lyonne and Judith Light both reached this milestone with Poker Face.
Hate the thought of the Emmys in January. I wish they'd canceled the ceremony and issued the results via livestream or press release (like the 2007 Globes or the 2021 Globes).
It seems...immature...for them to cling to a glitzy A-list awards ceremony at all costs when facing facts, sacrificing the 2023 ceremony and moving on to 2024 would've made sense. Just cut your losses, a ceremony didn't work out this year.
DK - Agreed!
Goodness, January! That's truly astonishing. 🤯 Info
